Xiaomi has launched its Xiaomi 14 CIVI smartphone in India. In this article, we will be telling you its specs, price and if you should buy it or not. Read it till the end to clear your confusion.
From a long time, there wasn’t any phone in the under 50K price range that excels in everything and presents you a balance of a good camera, a good display, a compact size and a premium build quality. It seems like, the wait is finally over with the launch of Xiaomi 14 CIVI. Read this article till the end to know why I am saying this!
Specifications of Xiaomi 14 CIVI
Display
Xiaomi 14 CIVI features a 6.55-inch Quad-Curved 1.5K resolution AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. Display of this phone supports upto 3000-nits of peak brightness with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support.
Design and Build Quality
The Xiaomi 14 CIVI has a glass back with an Aluminium frame. It has a circular camera housing at the back. The addition of a metal frame definitely makes it feel premium when you hold it and improves the durability too.
Processor
The processor of Xiaomi 14 CIVI is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. It is a newly launched chipset which is based on TSMC’s 4nm architecture. It has 8 cores which are –
- 1x 3GHz – Cortex-X4
- 4x 2.8 GHz – Cortex-A720
- 3x 2GHz – Cortex-A520
Cameras
Camera department is something that this phone has the most focus on. Xiaomi 14 CIVI cameras are also co-engineered with Leica just like the Xiaomi 14 series which gives us a kind of assurance.
Rear Camera
It has a triple camera setup at the back which includes a 50MP main LYT-808 (1/1.55”) sensor with OIS + 50MP 2x Telephoto lens + 12MP ultra-wide camera with 100-degree field-of-view. This smartphone has very good camera performance and it also has all the Leica filters. The rear camera can record videos of upto 4k60fps.
Front Camera
Talking about the front camera, it has a dual 32MP + 32MP setup at its front in which one is a normal lens and the other one is an ultra-wide lens. Both the front cameras can selfie videos of upto 4k30fps resolution.
Software
Xiaomi 14 CIVI comes with Hyper OS 1.0 based on Android 14 and Xiaomi is promising 3 years of major Android updates and 4 years of security patches.
Talking about Hyper OS, users have mixed feelings about this Android skin. The lock screen customization is the best in the Android world whereas there isn’t any big change in looks or features of the UI as compared to the previously used MIUI. Animations have definitely improved and Xiaomi has added some other important features too but at the same time, this skin misses out on a very simple feature like screen-on-time. This smartphone comes with a bit less pre-installed third-party apps but it still has those dark patterns like the Glance and Global Search. Apps like Game Centre also show you ads and you will have to disable them.

Speakers and Haptics
Xiaomi 14 CIVI has a dual set of speakers and has good haptics experience for its price.
Battery and Charging
It comes with a 4700mAh battery along with a 67W charging brick inside the box. 5000mAh battery has become a new normal in current time but 4700mAh is also acceptable considering its compact form factor.
RAM & Storage
Xiaomi 14 CIVI has LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
Price & Availability of Xiaomi 14 CIVI
Xiaomi 14 CIVI will be available in two variants – 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. It will be sold in three colours – Cruise Blue, Matcha Green and Shadow Black.
The base variant is priced at Rs 42,999 and the higher variant is priced at Rs 47,999. Extra 3000 discount is available on ICICI bank credit card transactions. You can also claim a Redmi Watch 3 Active for free if you pre-book it between 12-19 June.
The First sale is on June 20 at 12 noon.
Conclusion – Really the best phone available to buy under 50K?
If we look at the other phones that are available in this price range, none of them is perfect. OnePlus 12R has a powerful processor but misses on the camera part and vivo V30 Pro has a very good camera but it loses in performance whereas Xiaomi 14 CIVI is a perfect balance of everything at a right price. It has a good set of cameras along with a powerful processor and has a premium display too.
Like every other phone, it also has some cons like no IP rating, no wireless charging and display is not LTPO. Currently, this is the best phone to buy under 45K or 50K price. However, if you can wait, you should wait for the upcoming HONOR 200 Pro and the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra.
