OnePlus has introduced the 13R in India. It’s a successor to the OnePlus 12R, which launched in January 2024. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which offers good performance at a good price.
Design
The OnePlus 13R features Gorilla Glass 7i on the back for good protection of the back side of the device, and the device gets a triple camera setup on the back for good camera performance. It has IP65 water resistance, and thanks to Omni-directional antennas and Smart Link, the OnePlus 13R has best-in-class connectivity on the smartphone, and the phone comes in two colour variants, Astral Trail and Nebula Noir. The phone also has a triple microphone setup in the front for good audio while in a meeting, and thanks to OnePlus partnering with Jio, the phone also has support for 5.5G technology for faster 5G in India.

Display
The OnePlus 13R features a 6.78-inch display with a resolution of 1200p and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone has a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate with LTPO 4.1 for high refresh rates on selected content and a bit lower refresh rate on some content to increase the battery life. It has a 100% display P3 colour gamut and 10 bits of colour depth, and it comes with HBM brightness of 1600 nits and peak brightness, which will be only on a single pixel of 4500 nits. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, which is used for both the front and back panels of the smartphone.

Performance
The OnePlus 13R is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, built on TSMC’s 4nm process node. The device starts with 12GB of RAM instead of 8GB to improve the performance. The phone houses the UFS 4.0 for storage; it is a huge improvement over the UFS 3.1 in the storage department for the OnePlus 12R and keeps things cooler.
The phone has a dual Cryo Velocity (VC) measuring 9925 mm², which is 8% larger than the VC that was found on the 12R, and this change can keep the 13R 1.5 degrees cooler in the middle of the smartphone. The OnePlus 13R is one of the first phones to support 120 fps on BGMI. With the help of an adaptive frame booster, we can experience gaming at a higher resolution with high fps.
Cameras
The OnePlus 13R features a LYT 700 sensor for the main camera with OIS and a JN5 sensor for the telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, which is a nice addition since many of the users have been asking OnePlus to make this change. It gets an 8MP ultra-wide camera with an FOV of 112 degrees for those wide shots. It can record videos at 4K 60 fps, and you can record videos while zooming in to the objects at 4K 60 fps too. It has a 16MP sensor on the front for the selfies, and it can record videos at 1080 30 fps.

Battery
The OnePlus 13R gets a monstrous 6000 mAh battery, which is driven by next-gen battery technologies for great battery life, and the phone also has an 80W SuperVooc charger in the box to quickly charge the monstrous 6000 mAh battery up to 50% in just 20 minutes with smart rapid charging mode on. It can provide up to 24 hours of Netflix video playback.
OS
The OnePlus 13R is powered by OxygenOS 15, which is based on Android 15. It will receive 4 Android updates and 6 years of security updates, which is good for the price, honestly. So, the OnePlus 13R will receive updates until 2031 and Android 19, and guessing it’s OnePlus, mostly these phones might get monthly security updates too. The phone has Clear Voice to lower the background noise behind you and packs a bunch of AI features like intelligent features and good animations on the phone.

Pricing
The phone starts at ₹42,999 for the 12/256GB variant and the 16/512 variant at ₹49,999. The phone has a ₹3,000 instant bank discount, and you have a lot of perks like 180 days of free phone replacement plan and complimentary airport lounge access when you buy the phone. The sale for the smartphone starts on January 13th. There is a lifetime warranty on the Display Green line, it’s good to see OnePlus offering a lifetime warranty for Greenline issues.
