HONOR Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro Launched in China: Design, Specs and Pricing!

HONOR has launched the Magic 7 Pro series, and it’s a successor to the Magic 6 Pro, which launched in 2023, and it appears to be a promising phone.

The HONOR Magic 7 Pro features a stunning quad-camera design on the back of the phone. The model features IP68/69 for awesome water and dust resistance and dual speakers for awesome audio, and they also feature an honor surround subwoofer. The Magic 7 Pro Comes In 4 Colors: Moon Shadow, White, Velvet Black, and Black. Magic 7 Comes in 5 colours: Morning Glow, Blue, White, Velvet Black, and Moon Shadow.

Display

The Magic 7 Series Features A dual layer 6.80-inch LED display with 2k resolution with 120hz refresh rate and PWM dimming frequency of 4320hz and 5000 nits of HDR peak brightness and 1600 nits of local peak brightness with quad curved display with a pill-shaped camera layout in the front and has 8T LTPO technology with Rhino glass protection which is 10 times more resistance to drops than the competition it also features a 3D TOF sensor (time of flight) sensor for more secure and advanced facial recognition The magic 7 features only 3d ultrasonic fingerprint recognition the 7 pro has both ultrasonic fingerprint recognition with 3D Face recognition.

Performance

Moving on to the performance side the Magic 7 Series will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 elite CPU which is manufactured on TSMC 3nm node and comes with Qualcomm’s own Oryon cores with the performant cores clocked at 4.32ghz which is the highest clock speed in a mobile CPU ever the 8 elite gets a whooping 45% jump vs the previous generation’s CPU which is 8 gen 3 which was launched a year back and 40% better performance on the GPU to the GPU now has hardware accelerated real-time ray tracing which improves the ray tracing by 35% vs the previous generation and overall 27% less power throughout the soc

The phone also has liquid cooling technology for cooling the chip and HONOR at the event said that the phone can beat the iPhone 16 pro max while being cooler than the iPhone which is a good thing.

Camera

The HONOR Magic 7 features a triple camera system. Its main camera features a 50MP sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom and OIS, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera with OIS support with 122 degrees field of view range and support for a 2.5cm super camera. In the front, you get a 50MP selfie camera with 4K video recording capability and 90-degree super-wide selfies.

The HONOR Magic 7 Pro features a triple camera system. The main camera is a 50MP camera with f1.4-2.0 intelligent variable aperture, and it features a 50mp ultrawide camera with a 122-degree field of view and a 200mp Samsung HP3 Sensor for the telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom, with a 4th camera being a laser time of flight camera to improve the autofocus performance of the camera, and in the front, you get a 50MP camera that records videos in 4K and 90-degree field of view for a super wide selfie with a 3D depth camera for good facial recognition.

Battery

The HONOR Magic 7 packs a 5650mAh battery while the Magic 7 Pro features a 5850mAh battery, and both of the phones support 100W of fast charging via wired and 80W of supercharging with wireless charging, which is good, and the batteries are made with a third-generation Qinghai Lake battery.

Software

The HONOR Magic 7 Series comes with Magic OS 9.0 Android 15 out of the box and comes with AI features too, like AI Eagle Eye Snap with AI optimizing the capture effect, capturing the vitality of every dynamic moment from a longer distance, and AI Super Clear Portraits. AI enhances the facial skin textures; hair and eyebrows are clearer with Yoyo AI digital assistant, and AI Face Swap detection helps you identify the risks of face changing and protect the safety of your device, AI elimination, AI Image Expansion, AI Face Restoration, and a lot more AI features.

Pricing

The HONOR Magic 7 starts at 4499 Yuan for the 12+256 variant, 4800 for the 12+512 variant, 4999 for the 16+512 variant, and 5499 for the 16+1TB variant.

The HONOR Magic 7 Pro starts at 5699 Yuan for the 12+256 variant, 6199 for 16+512, and 6699 for the 16+1TB variant.

And you get HONOR X7 Lite earphones for both phones when ordering for free. 

Verdict

The HONOR Magic 7 Series It feels like a good jump over the previous generation, and the pricing of the smartphones looks decent, around 53k INR (converted). The Magic 7 base variant looks pretty good; the cameras look good, and the software too.
