Redmi launched the K80 and K80 Pro series on November 27, an upgrade to the Redmi K70 series.
Design
The Redmi K80 Pro features a triple-camera setup on the backside of the smartphone and the K80 features a dual camera setup. The phone also features IP68 water and dust resistance, with a waterproof depth of 2.5 meters. The Redmi K80 series features a dual-tone design for the back panel the design of the top and bottom lines creates the representation of light and dark divisions and the alternations of the day and light scenes on the back panel. The phone also gets a dual stereo speaker setup for a good audio experience. The phone also comes in 4 colours Dark Night, Snow White, Xiyue Blue, and Green.
K80 Pro comes with a Lamborghini Squadra Corse edition which is based on Huracán GT3 EVO with the iconic 63 logo and Y Shaped Line.
Display
The Redmi K80 features a flagship display that is made in collaboration between Redmi and TCL CSOT, and it’s an M9 display from TCL that increases the luminous efficiency by 8%, reduces power consumption, and is a 6.67 display with a 120Hz refresh rate with a peak brightness of 3200 nits, and the display has a touch sampling rate of 480Hz and an instantaneous touch sampling rate of 2560Hz with a 1440P resolution, and it has a 12-bit colour depth on the panel with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support with P3 wide colour gamut support, and it has an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and the display also has DC dimming for the safety of the eyes while watching the screen.
Performance
The Redmi K80 Pro features a D1 chip based on a 12nm manufacturing process. It can upscale the game’s resolution to 2k and interpolate the frames to improve the performance. The Redmi K80 Pro features the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and Redmi claims that the CPU is 32% faster in CPU tasks and 34% faster in GPU tasks and has a massive 98% AI performance improvement
The Redmi K80 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with a 4nm fabrication process with 3.3GHz of peak speeds.
The Redmi has integrated a 3D dual-loop vapour cooling chamber of size 5400 mm*2, and it drops the SOC temperature by 3 degrees. The Redmi has installed 12 temperature sensors into the smartphone, and AI intelligently identifies more than 30 use case scenarios to achieve intelligent thermal control, based on ergonomics, the heat conduction path is set to improve the user’s grip temperature rise during use.
The K80 series also features a Pengpai T1S signal enhancement chip. The cellular’s maximum performance is improved by 37%, and there is a 16% improvement in Wi-Fi performance and a 16% increase in Bluetooth performance.
Cameras
The Redmi K80 features the Hunter 800 sensor as its main camera, which has OIS support, a 4-inch 2.0um fused pixel and a 6P lens with an 8mp ultra-wide sensor with Xiaomi AISP as its AI photography platform. Thanks to the large main sensor and the low-light performance of the smartphone, the phone has lightning-fast 2.0 technology, which helps the phone to capture 150 high definitions at any time, and you can select any frame as the cover thanks to the dynamic photo.
The Redmi K80 Pro features the Hunter 800 sensor as the primary sensor and the JN5 sensor as the floating telephoto sensor, with both the main camera and the telephoto sensor featuring OIS technology and a 32 MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view. The floating focus lens can achieve good portraits and 5x lossless telephoto zoom and can also take 10 cm macro close-ups from the floating telephoto sensor, and the phone can also achieve 20x superzoom.
Both the K80 and K80 Pro feature a 20MP selfie camera.
The Surge OS integrates the computing power of CPU, GPU, NPU, and ISP and has image computing capabilities to integrate software and hardware.
Battery
The Redmi K80 features a 6550 mAh battery with 90W of charging support, and the phone has got an increase of 1150 mAh vs. the predecessor with an energy density of 825 Wh/L with 1600 charge cycles for long life, and the K80 Pro features a 6000 mAh battery with 120 W of charging and 50 W of wireless fast charging, and an increase of 17% in energy density with 1600 charge cycles for long life is based on Xiaomi Jinshajiang silicon carbon-based architecture for the battery.
The K80 series features both the Surge P3 chip with the G1 battery management chip, which improves the charging efficiency, and the phones have extreme cold charging so they can charge at -25 deg temperatures at full speed.
Software
The Redmi K80 series comes preinstalled with Hyper OS 2 software, which is based on Android 15 software, and the phone comes with an AI performance scheduler and graphics rendering efficiency core that goes deep into the bottom layer of the platform to achieve a higher frame rate and higher efficiency and lower power consumption, and the Hyper OS 2 also features a new customized UI interface.

The Redmi K80 starts at 12+256GB variant at 2499 Chinese Yuan (INR 29000 converted),12+512GB at Yuan 2899 (INR 33750 converted), 16+256GB at Yuan 2699 (INR 31400 converted), and 16+512GB at 3199 Yuan (INR 37200 converted), and 16+1TB at 3599 Yuan (INR 42000 converted).
The Redmi K80 Pro starts at 12+256GB at Yuan 3699 (INR 42000 converted), 12+512GB at Yuan 3999 (INR 46000 converted), 16+512GB at 4299 (INR 49000 converted), and 16+1TB at 4799 Yuan (INR 56000 converted).
Verdict
The Redmi K80 and K80 Pro both look good, but the K80 looks kind of not good considering you are getting only an 8MP ultrawide for the price, which is a disadvantage for the smartphone when you consider the rest of the specifications for the smartphones look good.
