January is filled with a ton of smartphone launches, starting the year on a roll, including flagship launches like the Samsung S24 series and the OnePlus 13 series. POCO is hitting it out of the park again with the new X7 series, just like the X6 series last year. The two smartphones, the X7 and X7 Pro, are looking awesome, especially if you are into gaming. So let us dive into it!

POCO X7 Series Launch Date and Details
POCO X7 and X7 Pro will launch in India on January 9th, with the global launch event scheduled for the same day. The launch will stream on the POCO India YouTube channel at 5:30 pm IST and be available on Flipkart.
POCO X7 Pro
Display
The POCO X7 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display with LTPO technology. Although the exact specifications are unknown, the display will surely be great, with an almost bezel-less look, just like that of the POCO X6 Pro.
Performance
POCO X7 Pro is powered by the brand new MediaTek Dimensity 8400 which offers crazy performance for the expected price of the device. It gets close to 1.4 million AnTuTu score which is similar to flagship Dimensity 9300. This powerful machine along with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 will give a crazy smooth experience and gaming performance, especially for its price!

Software and UI
POCO X7 Pro is the first device in India to launch with HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15 out of the box, just like how the X6 Pro was the first to launch with HyperOS 1.0, beating the Xiaomi and Redmi counterparts.
HyperOS 2.0 brings several upgrades from the first generation HyperOS including UI changes like new lockscreen customization options, more refined UI across the board, improved Always On Display, new fingerprint animations as well as underhood changes like improved RAM management, and refined animations, of which they were already good at!
Cameras
POCO X7 Pro comes with a 50MP Sony LYT 600 1/2″ main camera with OIS and an 8MP Ultrawide. They removed the useless 2MP macro for good. That aside, the cameras are just average for the price which is fine for a performance-centric phone with these crazy specifications.
Other features include a massive 6550 mAh battery along with 90W fast charging. The global version has a trimmed-down 6000mAh battery.

POCO X7
Display
The younger brother of the POCO X7 Pro, the vanilla X7 comes with several great features at an even lower price compared to the Pro. It has a 6.7 inch 120Hz 1.5K 3D Curved AMOLED Display with LTPO technology and a peak brightness of 3000 nits.
Performance
It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra SoC which we already saw in several other devices. It is expected to run day-to-day tasks smoothly without jitters or lag. POCO X7, just like the Pro comes with LPDDR5X RAM type and UFS 4.0 storage which is great for its expected price.

Software and UI
Unlike the Pro, the vanilla X7 is expected to come with HyperOS 1.0 based on Android 14 which is weird and disappointing, especially when the other device does come with the next generation. HyperOS 1 in itself is a good UI with great customisation options and animations, especially for its price category.
Cameras
POCO X7 comes with the same camera setup as the Pro, that is a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide. The main camera is good at a 1/2″ sensor size and can take good pictures in the daytime. For the price, the camera setup is really good.

Both POCO X7 and X7 Pro come with IP69 which is first in the segment. The expected price of the X7 is around INR 20,000 while the X7 Pro is around INR 25,000 including offers. A special Iron Man edition of Poco X7 Pro is also expected to launch really soon and will be teased at the launch event.
