The Google Pixel A series makes a way to the lower price segment and aims to provide the Pixel experience to the masses. Google Pixel 8a was launched in May 2024. The rumours of the Google Pixel 9A are already out along with its design. This article will cover the expected specifications, leaked design, launch date and pricing.

Specifications

The Google Pixel 9A is expected to be equipped with a 6.1 inch OLED 120Hz Refresh rate, up to 2400nits peak brightness and 1080×2400 Pixels Punch hole display similar to what we saw in Pixel 8A but maybe with thinner bezels, not much thinner. A dual Rear camera setup of 50MP + 13MP with up to 4k @60fps video recording and a 32MP Front display.

While talking about Chipset, Google will likely use the 3.1 GHz, Octa-Core Google Tensor G4 chipset in Google Pixel 9A. The brand will probably use 8GB RAM with 2 storage options, 128GB and 256GB. The base variant is expected to be 128 GB, and other upper models, just like the 8A. The chances are low that the brand will upgrade to 256 and 512GB variants, and skips the base 128GB.

There won’t be any extra slots to expand the storage and for the 3.5mm jack. We can expect a 4500mAh battery on Google Pixel 9A with Wired and Wireless charging support. It will have an official IP rating as per testing and the capability to protect the device from damages due to dust and water, however as of now we are not sure about the numbers. We can expect stereo speakers of good quality. Most probably, it will come with Android 15 out of the box.

Design

The looks of the Google Pixel 9A were already out sometime before. However, we are not completely sure about the final design yet, but the leaked design had some differences compared to 8A. It feels like the Camera bump has been reduced or like they have completely removed the camera bump at the rear.

Build with metal frames, probably made of aluminium and glass back as expected, it will include a flat display at the front with a punch hole camera. We can’t expect the bezels to be very thin, but they can be thin to some extent compared to the previous. The back includes a pill for 2 cameras and 1 flashlight along with the Google logo in the middle.

As per the leaks, the Google Pixel 9A will come in four different colour variants, named as Iris, Obsidian, Peony, and Porcelain. The Peony Pixel 9A can be similar to the Peony Pixel 9, and the Iris option can be a bluish-purple colour.

Launch Date

Since the Pixel 8A was recently launched in May 2024, we can not expect the Google Pixel 9A to be released within this year. As per leaks, the Pixel 9A might come out by March 2025.

Pricing

The pricing of the A series is lower compared to the number series of Google. The Google Pixel 8A was priced at $499 in the US. So for Google Pixel 9A, we can expect a price increase of $50, and it may launch at $549 for the base variant.

In India, the Google Pixel 8A was priced at ₹49,999 for the base variant so we can expect the Google Pixel 9A under ₹60,000.
