Last May realme and POCO released two of the most anticipated mid-range phones from their GT and F series line up, while the POCO F6 was a more performance-centric device compared to realme GT 6T, the Realme GT 6T was more of a complete device as it had a better display, better cameras and near similar performance to the POCO F6.
OnePlus also joined this trend of high-performance mid-range phones and released the next generation of their Nord series, the Nord 4 has a complete design overhaul compared to the Nord 3. Nord 4 has a completely different design and camera configuration it also features a metal unibody design which is hard to find in this budget segment. Nord 4 features the same society as the Realme GT 6T.
Let’s see how the new Nord 4 fairs against the Realme GT 6T.
realme GT 6T vs OnePlus Nord 4: Design and Display
The realme GT 6T features a glossy dual-tone finish which leads to the back attracting fingerprints but it will not be a problem if you use a case, the design of realme GT 6T is rather bland when compared to their no. Series which features a leather back and a rather good design that feels premium compared to a plastic back.
realme GT 6T houses a big 5,500mAh battery which adds up to its 8.65 mm thickness. The OnePlus Nord 4 features a metal unibody design which is a throwback to its own OnePlus 3T. The Nord 4 design is a breath of fresh air in this segment as it feels unique and gives a premium in-hand feel. Despite its metal build and a big battery OnePlus has managed to keep the weight only at 199.5 grams.
The OnePlus Nord 4 sports a 6.74-inch Super Fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels, resulting in a crisp 450 ppi. The 120 Hz refresh rate ensures smooth scrolling and fluid animations, while the peak brightness ensures full visibility outdoors. The Nord 4 features a flat display with minimum bezels which prevents mistouches.
The Nord 4 also features the ProXDR technology, borrowed from the flagship OnePlus 12. This system analyzes photos and videos in your gallery and shows them in the best lighting possible, regardless of the viewing environment.
realme GT 6T vs OnePlus Nord 4: Performance
Both the realme GT 6T and Nord 4 feature the same snapdragon 7 plus gen 3 chipset but despite having a similar chip GT 6T performs better than Nord 4 in every scenario. realme GT 6T also outperforms the Nord 4 in every benchmark and stays cool due to its large vapour chamber. While Nord 4 gets hot quickly largely due to its metal build.
In 91 mobiles review of realme GT 6T vs OnePlus Nord 4 comparing both of them when playing at least 30 minutes of gameplay of both BGMI and COD. After 30 minutes of BGMI, the OnePlus Nord 4’s temperature increased by 8.8 degrees Celsius, while realme GT 6T’s internal temperature rose by 5.6 degrees Celsius. At the end of the COD round, both phones’ temperatures increased by 10.2 and 6.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
realme GT 6T vs OnePlus Nord 4: Camera
The realme GT 6T has opted for a dual camera setup, comprising a 50MP Sony LYT600 main sensor and a 112-degree FoV 8MP ultra-wide lens. While the camera is not a strong suit of the GT 6T it will not disappoint you as the main sensor performs very well and produces photos more to the warmer side. But the same can’t be said about its ultrawide camera as it’s average at best. The 32 MP camera is a decent camera that gives decent results but sometimes its results may look over-processed.
The camera setup on the Nord 4 is headlined by a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 main sensor, complemented by an 8 MP ultra-wide lens and a 16 MP front-facing camera. The phone takes good daylight photos with good dynamic range and accurate colors. The ultra-wide camera, with its 112-degree field of view, is perfect for landscape shots and group photos while photos. While photos might be dull compared to the main camera it still performs well in well-lit conditions
Both mobiles have the same LYT-600 camera sensor which performs well. but other than that all the other cameras are lackluster at best the Selfie camera of Realme is better than that of OnePlus as it performs better than the 16MP selfie sensor of Nord 4 but it might not remain the same as OnePlus has said that it will be rolling out an AI Groupfie feature in a recent software update, which promises to adjust subjects’ eyes post-capture.
realme GT 6T vs OnePlus Nord 4: Battery and charging
In terms of battery both the GT 6T and Nord 4 are neck to neck as both are equipped with 5,500 mAh batteries while realme supports and comes with a 120W charger and Nord 4 supports and comes with a 100W Charger. With their massive batteries, both phones will last under a full day of heavy use.
It takes 30 minutes for Nord 4 to charge from 0 to 100% and it takes 35-40 minutes for GT 6T to charge from 0 to 100%
realme GT 6T vs OnePlus Nord: Software
The realme GT 6T runs on Realme UI 5.0, based on Android 14. The company promises software updates for up to four years and security updates for three years, so users can expect long-term support and optimization.
The Nord 4 runs on OxygenOS 14.1, based on Android 14. OnePlus has committed to four years of software updates plus two years of security patches, ensuring the device stays current for years to come. The clean, near-stock Android experience that OxygenOS is known for is present here, with thoughtful additions that enhance usability without cluttering the interface.
Both also come with a variety of AI features. In terms of UI experience, OnePlus provides a better user experience one year of major OS updates and 2 years of security updates.
realme GT 6T vs OnePlus Nord: Verdict
Both the GT 6T and Nord 4 are similar in many aspects as both feature the same chip, the same battery capacity, and the same main camera sensor. But both cater towards to a different demographic as GT 6T wants to be the perfect balance between gaming experience, viewing experience, and camera experience. While OnePlus is slights underpowered despite having the same chip looks to provide a premium experience in this mid-range segment with its metal unibody design, its 4 years of major OS updates, and a relatively good camera.
