vivo has launched the S50 Series as a successor to their mid-range S30 Series, with the S30 Pro Mini receiving a global launch, including India, as the X200 Pro Mini. In this article, we go through the vivo S50’s specifications, features and Chinese pricing.

Specifications

Display

vivo’s new S50 comes with a 6.59-inch OLED panel with 1.5k Resolution, which goes up to 120Hz refresh rate and 1600 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM). This display also has a 3D Ultrasonic In-Display Fingerprint sensor for faster and more secure unlocking.

Performance

The S50 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset paired with Adreno 829 GPU, LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

Software

The Phone also runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 in China, it will run the same with the global launch, instead of FunTouch OS, similar to all vivo and iQOO phones.

Camera

Coming to Cameras, vivo S50 has flagship-grade cameras in the Budget premium mid-range segment, which will give it a slight push to sales of this compared to other competitor phones in the segment.

On the back, the S50 has a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50MP Sony LYT-700V OIS main, 8MP Ultra-wide lens and a 50MP Sony IMX882 Telephoto Periscope lens. On the front of the S50 is a 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor.

Battery

vivo’s S50 in China comes with a fairly large 6500mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging.

Connectivity

Coming to Connectivity, S50 comes with support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, LHDC 5.0, and IR Blaster.

Design

In terms of design, vivo has provided an Aerospace-grade aluminium metal frame for the S50 and is rated for an IP68 and IP69 rating. The phone also features a Type-C port, rated for USB 2.0 transfer speeds (Could’ve given at least a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Port). The phone has Dual Stereo Speakers and an X-axis Linear Motor for haptics. It’s approximately 7.59mm thick and weighs around 197 grams.

Pricing

vivo S50 is priced in China as follows;

  • 12/256GB – 2999 yuan (~₹38,630)
  • 12/512GB – 3299 yuan (~₹42,530)
  • 16/512GB – 3599 yuan (~₹46,380)

Global Launch

The Vivo S50 Series will soon launch in global markets. There are some rumours or leaks, but it might get rebranded. Here are the details on the global launch of the vivo S50 series in future.

According to the leaks, vivo S50 will be rebranded as vivo T5 Ultra and will launch in global markets with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.

On the other hand, the vivo S50 Pro Mini will be launching under the name vivo X300 FE and will have a Q2 2026 launch, which is around the timeline of somewhere between April, May, or June.
