realme 13 Pro Series Launched in India: Everything Feels the Same and Nothing Exciting!

realme 13 Pro series has been launched in India. These smartphones were something that no one was expecting from realme to launch this early and seriously, there was no need because they just launched the 12 Pro series in February and it’s been only 5 months since the launch. Read this article to know the specs and prices of these two phones and to know why I am calling them as same phones as their predecessors.

realme 13 Pro Specifications: Why realme why?

This series has two phones, one of which is the realme 13 Pro. It feels unreal that instead of bringing many upgrades, this phone has many downgrades than its predecessor. A successor brings some upgrades but I don’t know why the brand did this. This smartphone doesn’t have a telephoto camera which was present on the 12 Pro. Also, they decreased the charging speeds too from 67W to just 45W with an incremental upgrade in the battery by giving a 5200mAh battery. However, it has some upgrades like a slightly better processor and better selfie camera. Here are its key specifications –

  • 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset
  • 0MP LYT-600 (1/1.95”) main camera + 8MP ultrawide + 2MP macro camera
  • 32MP selfie camera
  • 5000mAh battery with 45W charging support
  • LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage
  • realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14 with 2 years of promised Android updates and 3 years of security patches
  • IP65 water-resistant rating

realme 13 Pro+ Specifications: What’s the need?

The other phone in the series is the realme 13 Pro+ which is the successor of the 12 Pro+. If we compare both these phones side by side, it’s hard to tell any big difference. They just replaced the periscope lens with a bigger and slightly better sensor and nothing has changed. It’s powered by the same chipset, has the same main camera sensor, and the same display too. Also, the other changes are also very minor like an increase in the charging wattage from 67W to 80W. Here are its key specifications –

  • 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset
  • 50MP LYT-701C (1/1.56”) main camera + 50MP LYT-600 periscope camera + 8MP ultrawide
  • 32MP selfie camera
  • 5000mAh battery with 80W charging support
  • LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage
  • realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14 with 2 years of promised Android updates and 3 years of security patches
  • IP65 water-resistant rating

Final Verdict

This was all about the realme 13 Pro series, Watch S2, and Buds T310. There are not any major improvements from the previous realme 12 Pro series and instead, there are several downgrades. It is very disappointing to see that. Currently, there are better options available at this price point. Instead of realme 13 Pro Plus, it is better to get Motorola Edge 50 Pro, HONOR 200, and other options.
