Google Pixel Watch 3 to Come in Two Sizes

The Google Pixel Watch 3 is rumoured to be available in two different sizes, unlike its predecessor which is available in only one size, 41mm. As per a 9to5google source, Google is working on two different sizes of the Pixel Watch 3.

One of these sizes is expected to be 41mm while the dimensions of the other size still remain unknown. The Pixel Watch 2 was criticized for its small size and mediocre battery life.

Looks like Google has finally acknowledged this and is working on fixing this with the addition of a new size for the watch.

However, it is still a mystery whether one size will offer unique features over the other, or it will be a seamless experience regardless of dimensions.

Taking a glance at the competition, both Apple and Samsung offer several size options for different models of their smartwatches.

So it makes sense for Google to also release multiple sizes for its Pixel Watch.

A larger Pixel Watch translates to a few more things, including a larger screen, a larger battery, and more room for health sensors. Perhaps, Google will also reduce the chunky bezels that we currently have on the Pixel Watch 2, at least in the larger size.

A larger battery is the most likely thing to happen with a larger size of the Pixel Watch 3. The current Pixel Watch can last for 24 hours with AOD and with a larger battery, the Pixel Watch 3 should last around 30 hours or more, with AOD turned on.

Moreover, the Pixel Watch 3 should be running on the same chip as last year, since Snapdragon has no plans to release a new chip for the WearOS platform. For those unaware, it’s the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1.

We can also expect Google to finally add blood pressure monitoring to the Pixel Watch, just like we have on Samsung’s Galaxy Watches. The good news is that Google has filed a patent already and is waiting for approval from regulatory authorities.

The smartwatch market has been getting interesting with more and more players jumping into it and taking it seriously.

OnePlus’ first WearOS watch, the OnePlus Watch 2, is also around the corner, which seems to be a solid competitor.

Finally, the Pixel Watch 3 will launch in October 2024 alongside the Pixel 9 series. What are your expectations from the Pixel Watch 3? Let us know in the comments section below.
