CMF Phone 1 has been finally launched in India after creating a lot of hype. Well, this smartphone tries to justify the hype to an extent but many people are still confused if they should buy this or choose between the other available options. One of the phones that everyone is talking about is the Narzo 70 Pro. It gives tough competition to the CMF and even beats it in some areas. Let’s compare these two phones based on their specifications and find out which one is a better option for you.

CMF Phone 1 is sold for Rs 15999 for the 6GB + 128 GB variant and Rs 17999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. The Narzo 70 Pro was however launched for a much higher price but it’s now being sold at a discounted price. It’s currently available for Rs 17999 including the unconditional Rs 2000 worth coupon discount and its 8GB + 256GB variant is being sold for Rs 18999 including the Rs 3000 worth coupon discount which means both the phones cost the same for the 8GB + 128GB variant. Let’s compare them!

Design and Build

Both these phones have an opposite build. The Narzo 70 Pro has a dual finish glass back panel whereas the CMF Phone 1 has a polycarbonate but removable and replaceable back. Glass back panel is more premium but you can’t replace it whereas you can do that in the CMF.

The choice will be yours whether you want a glass back or you are ready to settle down with a plastic but changeable back. However, you will have to spend Rs 1499 for the new back panel in the CMF.

Display

Both phones feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ flat AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The screen-to-body ratio is also similar in both.

In terms of display, it’s a tie between both phones.

Performance

The CMF Phone 1 is powered by the Dimensity 7300 5g chip whereas the Dimensity 7050 powers the Narzo 70 Pro. Before the launch of CMF, everyone assumed that the 7300 was the successor of the Dimensity 7200 but it’s a successor of the 7050. It is based on 4nm whereas the latter is based on 6nm.

You should go with the CMF Phone 1 if performance is your top priority.

Software

The CMF Phone 1 is a clear winner if you want an Ad and bloatware-free experience. It runs on Nothing OS 2.6 which is famous for its minimal look and it’s filled with many useful features at the same time. The Narzo runs on realme UI 5.0 which comes with some pre-installed bloatware apps and realme’s app store too which keeps sending you unwanted notifications. However, you can delete the bloatware apps and can turn these unwanted notifications off in a few minutes but CMF has an edge here because it comes with a clean experience out of the box.

Cameras

Here comes a big difference. The CMF Phone 1 has a 50MP IMX 882 main camera along with a 2MP depth sensor whereas the Narzo 70 Pro has a triple rear camera including a 50MP IMX 890 main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro camera.

On paper, the IMX 890 is a far superior sensor to the IMX 882. Its sensor size is 1/1.56” whereas the latter is 1/1.96”. We have seen the IMX 890 in many expensive phones including the OnePlus 11, Nord 3 and realme 12 Pro Plus. This time, CMF has also tuned its cameras very well and there isn’t a day and night difference in the main camera quality in daylight but the Narzo will have a slight edge because of the bigger sensor and OIS and with the help of these, it can capture more detailed shots in the night as well as in the daytime. 8MP ultra-wide is also a bonus on the Narzo whereas CMF lacks it.

Talking about the selfie camera, both the phones are equipped with a 16MP sensor at the front. While the Mega Pixel count is same, there is a big difference in real life. The Narzo 70 Pro outshines the CMF Phone 1 in selfies whether we talk about the colours, details or night mode.

If a good camera is your top priority, you should go with the Narzo 70 Pro smartphone.

Battery and Charging

Both the phones have a 5000mAh battery. The CMF supports 33W charging whereas the Narzo supports up to 67W charging speeds. Not only the Narzo supports faster charging, it also has the charger bundled for free whereas you will have to spend Rs 799 even for the slower 33W charger for the CMF.

RAM and Storage

Both the phones have LPDDR4X RAM type but the Narzo 70 Pro has faster UFS 3.1 storage whereas the CMF has UFS 2.2 storage type which is comparatively slower.

Audio and Haptics

Both phones have similar haptic motors. The CMF has a single speaker whereas the Narzo has a dual speaker setup and you will feel the difference. Narzo’s speakers are louder and sound more clear.

Reasons to buy CMF Phone 1

  1. Customisability: CMF Phone 1 allows you to change the back panel which you can’t do on the Narzo.
  2. Better Software: Nothing OS will provide you a completely ad and bloatware-free experience whereas realme UI has some bloatware apps pre-loaded.
  3. Performance: If your main priority is performance, then you should choose the CMF because of the more powerful Dimensity 7300.

Reasons to buy Narzo 70 Pro

  1. Premium Design: The Narzo doesn’t allow you to change the back panel but it has a glass back which is considered to be more premium as compared to the polycarbonate ones.
  2. Better Cameras: The Narzo 70 Pro has overall better cameras and it has OIS in the main camera which helps you to click detailed shots in low light conditions. Also, the selfie camera is better in  Narzo.
  3. Faster Storage: It is equipped with UFS 3.1 storage whereas the CMF has UFS 2.2 storage which means, files and apps will load faster on the Narzo.
  4. Faster Charging: The Narzo has a faster 67W charging support and it comes with a charger inside the box for free.
  5. Dual Speakers: Narzo has dual speakers whereas the CMF has only a single speaker.

Looking at the comparison, it’s clear that the 70 Pro is an overall better smartphone as compared to the Phone 1. It has better cameras, faster charging, faster storage and louder speakers.

You can still choose the CMF if you want a cleaner UI, a replaceable back panel or better performance.
