CMF by Nothing, the sub-brand of the popular tech company Nothing, is making waves with the announcement of three exciting new products: the CMF Phone (1), CMF Buds (2), and CMF Watch Pro (2nd Gen).
Nothing has officially started teasing the products, which are scheduled to be launched by mid July.
Here we’re going to cover the expected specs, price and more!
CMF Phone (1):
This is the first generation of CMF phone series. It is expected to be a trimmed down version of Nothing’s own Phone (2a). While official specifications haven’t been revealed yet, leaks suggest an overall balanced package under ₹20,000. It is expected to feature the newly launched MediaTek Dimensity 7300, 5000mAh battery, 33W charging, dual stereo speakers, 120Hz AMOLED screen, 50MP+8MP rear cameras and a 16MP selfie camera. The standout features of Phone (1) are a teased “lock” and rotating “crown”, the functionalities are rather unknown but exciting. Even though it misses out on Glyph lighting and transparent back like their elder brother Nothing, the phones comes in a plenty of colours including Black, Blue, Orange and Green (India Exclusive). The retail box price of CMF Phone (1) is ₹19,999 which suggests a MRP of ~₹16,999.
CMF Buds (2):
Just like it’s predecessor CMF Buds features a rotating dial. We can expect more functionalities to the dail this time like music playback and volume adjustments. Leaks suggest the Buds (2) will retain the comfortable in-ear design and active noise cancellation (ANC) of the CMF Buds. With ANC reaching up to 45dB, I the Buds (2) will feature an immersive audio experience including features like Game mode for low latency during gaming sessions. While the previous two earbuds from CMF were criticized for having a very bassy sound signature, it remains to be seen how good they optimise it this time. It will also receive the ChatGPT integration like other audio products from. It will come in Black, Orange and White colours. The price is expected to between ₹3,000 and ₹5,000.
CMF Watch Pro:
The CMF Watch Pro is the most enigmatic of the three launches. The teaser provides a fleeting glimpse of a smartwatch sporting the now-familiar rotating dial. The dial might feature multiple functionalities like call management, navigation and app selection. Beyond the dial, details about the Watch Pro are scarce. It’s unclear whether it will run on Google’s Wear OS or a proprietary operating system. Battery life, display quality, and fitness tracking capabilities also remain a mystery. However, we can expect features like an AMOLED screen, Bluetooth recording, health, fitness and sleep tracking. The first generation Watch Pro had some connectivity issues with nothing’s CMF Watch app and a big privacy concern (Fixed later via update). I hope these issues will get fixed in the second generation of Watch Pro. The price of CMF Watch Pro could range anywhere from ₹5,000 – ₹10,000 depending on the specifications it offers.
The Dial: A unifying theme
The inclusion of a rotating dial across all three CMF products is a bold design choice that sparks curiosity. While its exact functionality remains to be seen, it hints at CMF and Nothing’s dedication towards pushing the limits and offering immersive experience with intriguing design features. With the launch of the Phone (1), Buds (2), and Watch Pro, CMF by Nothing is making a bold statement. The focus on affordability, innovative design elements like the rotating dial, and potential feature sets make these products intriguing options for budget-minded tech enthusiasts. While some details remain under wraps, the upcoming launch sparks excitement and intrest, competition is always welcome. Even though everyone are disappointed about the delayed launch of Nothing Phone (3), the upcoming three launches from CMF by Nothing are truly up for success.
