Nothing has announced their new earbuds lineup, the CMF Buds 2 series, which consists of the Buds 2a, Buds 2, and Buds 2 Plus. These are upgrades over the Buds series, which launched a year back, and bring many options on board for the users instead of just one option, which was previously present: CMF Buds.

CMF Buds 2a

CMF Buds 2a is the entry-level option in the CMF Buds lineup to deliver quality sound for everyone. The buds feature a lightweight design, and the earphones also include a 42 dB ANC, which cancels out the background noise of the outer world so that everyone can listen to the music. The earbuds feature a 12.4mm bio-fiber driver, tuned by Dirac, and feature ultra-bass technology for users who enjoy deep bass. The earphones come with 35.5 hours of audio playback time with the case while the ANC is off and 18.4 hours with the ANC on.

It features IP54 water and dust resistance for the earbuds, and it includes four microphones with clear voice technology. For the gamers out there, you need a Nothing Phone to experience the low-lag mode with less than 110 ms of latency for the earbuds and support for a custom equalizer so you can tune the audio experience according to your liking.

CMF Buds 2 is the middle of the CMF Buds lineup, and I believe it’s the successor to the CMF Buds, which launched in 2024. The Buds 2 feature an 11mm PMI driver with Dirac Opteo for Hi-Fi music playback, and the Buds also feature a 48 dB hybrid ANC with environmental adaptive technology. The Buds also feature in-ear detection so that when you remove the earbuds from your ear, the audio playback on the earbuds stops.

The earphones also come with 55 hours of audio playback time (case + buds combined), which is a massive improvement over the OG Buds since they had 39.5 hours of audio playback time, and the earbuds offer spatial audio support for an immersive audio experience and come with six microphones with clear voice technology and wind noise reduction and IP55 water and dust resistance, which protects the earbuds from water jets, and support for a custom equalizer, allowing you to adjust the audio experience to your preferences.

CMF Buds 2 Plus

CMF Buds 2 series

CMF Buds 2 Plus is the highest-end of the CMF Buds lineup, and it is for users who want to enjoy the audio experience. The Buds 2 Plus features a 12mm LCP driver with enhanced clarity and powerful bass and is paired with LDAC technology and hi-res wireless audio certification for the best audio experience in the CMF Buds lineup. When you combine this with the Audiodo hearing test and compensation, it helps to create a personalized sound that is tailored to your hearing profile. The audio experience is good, and the buds also feature a 50 dB hybrid ANC with smart adaptive mode for optimal noise reduction

The Buds 2 Plus also features six HD microphones with clear voice technology, and it’s trained on millions of samples. It adapts to busy streets and transit hubs, while the wind reduction technology improves the clarity of the audio in breezy conditions, and without ANC off, it gives 61.5 hours of audio playback (case + buds) and 14 hours just on the earbuds. And with the fast charging technology, charging for 10 minutes can provide 4.5 hours for the buds and 8.5 hours for the case.
