Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is a successor to the S24 Ultra, and it brings some minor improvements on board. They have upgraded the ultrawide camera from 12 MP to 50 MP, new protection, and more.
Design

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is 15 grams lighter and 0.4 mm thinner than its predecessor, the S24 Ultra, making it the lightest and thinnest ultra phone that Samsung has ever produced. The Galaxy S25 Ultra also gets rounder corners on the phone, and the phone receives pure titanium for the best-in-class durability design for the smartphone, and the phone features a penta camera design, and Samsung has upgraded the floating camera design. It’s elevated and visually enhanced to ensure the awesome performance of the cameras. It has four colors: Titanium Silver, Blue Titanium, Grey Titanium, Black Titanium, and White Titanium.
Display
The Galaxy S25 Ultra features a 6.9 Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and LTPO support on display with QHD+ resolution, and thanks to the super-thin bezels on the phone, the display size has been increased by 0.1″ from 6.8 to 6.9in thanks to the slim bezels, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra includes a new display protection technology, which is Gorilla Glass Armor 2, which has survived drops of 2.2 meters on a surface that replicates concrete. It combines Corning’s glass ceramic with an anti-reflective surface treatment to ensure advanced drop protection with an anti-reflection surface and the best scratch resistance.
Performance
The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset has been customized for Samsung phones. It got overclocked by 100 MHz, and it’s the most powerful processor, with a performance boost of 40% in NPU, 37% in CPU, and 30% in GPU versus the 8 Gen 3. To improve the thermal performance of the smartphone, Samsung has increased the vapor chamber size by 40% and added a thermal interface material (TIM), which will help improve the sustained performance of the phone, and the pro scaler with AI image processing can get an improvement of 40% in image scaling quality. Lastly, it incorporates Samsung’s mobile digital natural image engine (mDNIe), which improves display efficiency.
Cameras

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra features an upgraded ultra-wide camera from a 12 MP sensor to a 50 MP sensor. It offers 10-bit recording as the default setting, providing four times richer colour expression compared to the 8-bit recording, and the low-light videos have been clearer thanks to this upgrade. Thanks to the newer processor, the phone analyzes the time and movement to reduce the noise more effectively, and the phone also gets an audio eraser, which simplifies the removal of unwanted noise in videos.
For a DSLR-like experience on mobile, the S25 introduces depth of field control with a virtual aperture integrated into the expert raw mode. S25 also elevates cinematic creativity with Galaxy Log, enabling precise color grading options for more professional video production and Samsung has removed the S Pen Air actions, like using the S Pen to capture a picture, saying that no one uses them.
Battery
The Galaxy S25 Ultra features the same 5000 mAh battery and 45W charging as the S24 Ultra. The battery life might be improved thanks to the new 8 Elite chip. Additionally, the phone features Qi 2 compatibility on the case but on the case because the phone doesn’t have any magnets for Qi 2.
Software

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is equipped with Android 15 and One UI 7, offering 7 years of security updates until 2032 and 7 generations of OS updates. The phone has a lot of AI features, including Writing Assist, which summarizes and formats the notes without needing to switch between applications. Drawing Assist, which unlocks fresh ways to bring ideas to life through combinations of sketches, text, or image prompts; and there is a Now Bar, which summarizes the day, and all the data is secured by the Knox Vault for security.

The pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra starts at ₹1.29 lakhs for the 256/12 GB, and the 512/12 GB variant is at ₹1.29 lakhs until the pre-orders end. You can get 512 GB of storage for the same price as the 256 GB variant. After pre-orders, the price will be ₹1.41 lakhs, and the 1 TB/12 GB variant is at ₹1.65 lakhs, and the phone comes with an ₹8000 instant discount while buying the phone via HDFC credit card and ₹7000 off while buying via credit card EMI, and you can get a ₹9000 instant exchange bonus on your old smartphone, and the pre-orders end on January 31.
