While everyone was waiting for the Find X7 Ultra, OPPO announced its OPPO F27 Pro+ smartphone which is launching in India on 13 June. Read this article till the end to know the specifications and expected price of this smartphone.

OPPO primarily focuses on the offline market and they don’t launch any exciting phones in India. Same is the case with this phone. It is also expected to be a bit overpriced like most of their phones. This time, they are marketing the IP rating of the phone. It will have IP69 rating as the main feature. Brand is promoting it as a waterproof phone.

Specifications of OPPO F27 Pro+

As per the leaked specs, OPPO F27 Pro+ smartphone is a rebrand of OPPO A3 Pro which was launched in China for 1999 Yuan which equals to around 23K INR. Here are its specs –

It features a curved 6.7-inch 10- bit AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 950nits peak brightness of 1080 x 2412 pixels resolution.

It comes with a dual rear camera setup of 64MP + 2MP. The main camera is a 1/2.0” sensor with f/1.7 aperture and the other one is a 2MP depth sensor. The rear camera can record videos upto 4K resolution at 30 frames per second.

The front camera is an 8MP camera which can record selfie videos of upto 1080p at 30fps.

It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 Chipset and based on 6nm architecture. It has 2 cores Cortex-A78 clocked at 2.6 GHz and 6 cores Cortex-A55 clocked at 2.0 GHz.

OPPO F27 Pro+ has a 5000mAh battery with 67W charging support.

It has LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

The feature that the brand is promoting the most is the IP rating. This upcoming phone is IP69 rated which is the highest water and dust resistant rating available currently. It can protect the phone from water upto 1.5 metres for 30 minutes.

Talking about the software of this phone, it will come with COLOR OS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box.

Expected Price and Availability of OPPO F27 Pro+

It’s expected to launch in three different colours as we can see in the poster and as per leaks, it will have two variants – 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB and the leaked prices are INR 26999 & INR 29999 respectively.

OPPO F27 Pro+

It will be an offline market centric smartphone and will be sold online through Flipkart most probably.

Launch Date of OPPO F27 Pro+

It’s confirmed to launch on 13 June in India.

Final Words – Will it be worth buying?

For 25K+ price, OPPO F27 Pro+ will be a very overpriced phone. If we look at its processor which is Dimensity 7050, it’s available in phones that cost 15-16K and phones with much better performance are available in this price range. Even if we talk about the camera, it has a single usable rear camera of 64MP and that too is a 1/2” sensor. The other one is a 2MP depth sensor which is of not much use. If we look at the competition, nearly every available phone has a better main camera.

This phone also misses on an ultra-wide lens which is much necessary in this price range. Phones like realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro Plus provide you a telephoto camera too. Talking about the front camera, it’s of 8MP.  Nearly every phone in this price range uses at least a 16Mp selfie camera but OPPO did cost cutting here too.

In short, for more than 20K price, you should skip this phone. Even if you want a phone with IP rating, you can buy Moto Edge 50 Fusion instead of this phone. It has a better main camera and a better processor and it’s IP68 rated too. OPPO needs to rethink about their strategy and should launch some value for money phones in India.

This was all about the upcoming OPPO F27 Pro+ smartphone.
