Infinix has launched its much awaited Note 40 series phones powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 7020 5G chipset in the Indian smartphone market. The brand has launched 2 phones- Infinix Note 40 Pro and Note 40 Pro Plus. In this article, we will give you all the necessary information about these phones and we will also tell you if you should buy these phones or not!

Both the phones have almost same specifications. The only difference is battery and charging. The Note 40 Pro comes with a 5000mAh battery along with a 45W charger in the box whereas the Note 40 Pro Plus has a 4600mAh battery but Infinix has bundled it with a 100W charger. In this article, we will mainly talk about the Note 40 Pro as it is the only phone which seems recommendable here.

Specifications of Infinix Note 40 Pro

This time Infinix decided to do something extraordinary which no other brand thought. They introduced magnetic charging along with these newly launched phones which is generally available in iPhones as MagSafe which are considered premium phones but is it a sufficient reason to buy this phone? Read this article till the end to know!

Infinix Note 40 Pro

Display

Infinix Note 40 Pro has a 6.78-inches FHD+ Curved AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 1300 nits peak brightness and 93.6% screen-to-body ratio. The display comes with the protection of Gorilla Glass 5.

Display specs of this phone are nothing extraordinary but they are not bad either! Many brands are providing 1.5K resolution displays in their phones now a days and many users are preferring flat display phones after seeing the side effects of curved displays like no proper availability of screen guards, unwanted touches and problem while playing games etc. If you like curve displays and you are ok with the above cons then you can go with this display.

Infinix Note 40 Pro Specifications

Build and Design

The Note 40 Pro comes with a Vegan Leather back which definitely makes it look premium and the frame is a plastic frame. It has a notification LED light on the back panel which can be customised from the settings app. The phone is 8.09 mm thin and weighs 197 Grams.

The phone is IP54 certified which will protect it from normal water splashes and dust. It has an IR blaster too.

Battery and Charging: Biggest Upgrade?

Infinix Note 40 Pro has a 5000mAh battery along with 45W charging support which is normal in this price range and some brands are providing faster charging in their phones.

Now, you might be thinking that what’s so special about it. The special thing is the Magnetic Wireless Charging support which is inspired from Apple’s MagSafe charging and it isn’t available in any other phone in this price range. The free inclusion of the MagPower powerbank and Magnetic MagPod charger along with the MagCase is something which makes it standout in the price range.

I will share my opinions on this in the conclusion part so stay tuned till the end.

Software: Improved or Not?

This phone comes with XOS 14 out of the box which is based on Android 14 and thankfully the brand has now changed its update policy and it will provide 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of security patches in these devices.

Talking about XOS, Infinix has definitely improved their UI with every new version but it still needs a lot of improvements. I am not saying that it isn’t feature packed, it definitely is! Things that they need to improve are the looks and animations. Many apps and icons look old fashioned.

Many smartphone brands are now a days providing their own app store in their phones and their app stores keep sending unwanted notifications which disturbs the user experience but thankfully you can disable them and you can do that in XOS too but problem is that their Palm Store sometimes sends you notifications even when you have disabled it and it gets enabled automatically after new updates.

Infinix needs to stop this! Also, Infinix provides updates a bit late than the competition. Hopefully, they will provide updates on time.

Audio and Haptics

Infinix Note 40 Pro has dual set of speakers which are tuned by JBL and you can expect good sound experience from the speakers.

Talking about the haptics, It comes with an X-Axis linear vibration motor.

Performance

Infinix Note 40 Pro is equipped with Mediatek Dimensity 7020 5G chipset and it’s definitely not the most powerful chipset in that price range and it’s clear that Infinix has done the major cost cutting in the performance part of this phone to provide the magnetic wireless charging. This is definitely not a phone for hardcore gamers because phones which provide much better performance are already available in the market.

Cameras

This phone has a triple rear camera setup of 108MP+2MP+2MP at the back and a 32MP selfie shooter.

Cameras of the Infinix phones had never been good enough to compete with the competition. Although, they are constantly trying to improve. The 108MP main camera captures decent shots with less details for the price and you are definitely going to feel the lack of the ultra-wide camera because this phone doesn’t have an ultrawide camera.

You can record videos upto 2K resolution from the back camera but according to the reviews the video samples come out a bit noisy and have less details.

Talking about the front camera, it’s a 32MP camera which will capture decent shots. The front camera can also record videos upto 2K resolution.

Cons of Infinix Note 40 Pro

No phone is perfect and so is the case here. Every phone has some cons. Here are the cons of the Infinix Note 40 Pro –

  • Performance: The major con in this phone is its performance. It is equipped with Mediatek Dimensity 7020 5G chipset which is now a days found in under 15K range phones. Many phones in 20K price range have much better processors like Dimensity 7050 and even more powerful Dimensity 7200. It’s still a good smartphone for day-to-day usage but don’t buy it if you are a gamer.
  • Cameras: Infinix is launching value for money phones but they are still lacking in the camera department. Phones like Narzo 70 Pro and iQOO Z9 have a better overall camera.
  • Software: The main thing that is pulling me back from recommending Infinix phones is their software. It’s true that the brand is trying to improve but it still seems a long journey.

Price of Infinix Note 40 Pro

Infinix has launched two phones. Note 40 Pro and Note 40 Pro Plus. Both the phones are nearly same but have some minor differences. The Note 40 Pro Plus has a 4600mAh battery along with 100W charging and the Note 40 Pro has a 5000mAh battery and has 45W charging support.

Infinix Note 40 Pro comes in a single 8GB + 256GB variant and it’s priced at INR 21,999. It’s available in two colours – Vintage Green and Titan Gold (non vegan leather variant).

You can buy both Note 40 Pro and Note 40 Pro Plus from here.

Conclusion: Best Phone Under 20000 INR Price?

The magnetic charging is definitely something that no other brand is offering but is there anything else that is better in this phone as compared to the competition? no!

You can buy  the Note 40 Pro if you want to experience the magnetic charging and until Infinix is providing the case, powerbank and charger for free. I won’t recommend buying the Note 40 Pro Plus because it only has some extra GigaBytes of RAM and faster charging but its battery capacity is lower.

We should appreciate Infinix for providing these for free because many brands are not even providing the chargers in the box but Infinix is providing you everything in the box.

Many phones which are better in every department as compared to this phone are available to buy. You can buy Narzo 70 Pro if you want a good camera along with decent performance, iQOO Z9/Vivo T3 if you want good performance as it has Mediatek Dimensity 7200 chipset and Realmr P1 Pro if you want a curved display along with decent performance.
