Sometimes, things can go awry with your phone when it decides to go on an infinite boot loop. This article will cover how you can escape from a boot loop on Android smartphones.
Introduction
A boot loop is when the phone repeatedly restarts without loading the operating system. That is, the phone continues to be stuck in the boot screen, displaying the logo of the smartphone brand. This can happen when there is faulty communication within the Android operating system. This can also happen when something goes wrong while rooting or flashing a custom ROM.
How To Fix a Boot Loop
Fixing a boot loop is not a very complicated task. If the phone hasn’t been bricked, the boot loop can definitely be broken. There are three methods to fix a boot loop.
First method: Detach Battery
The first method is to remove the battery and reattach it. This will most likely fix the boot loop caused by faulty communication. However, this is only applicable to phones with a detachable battery.

Second Method: Force Restart
The second method is to force restart the phone. This can be done by pressing the power button for 10-15 seconds. If that doesn’t work, then different combinations can be tried, like power button + volume up button, power button + volume down button, etc.
Third Method: Fastboot
The third method is to enter the fast boot screen. This method is the most likely to free your device from the boot loop. To perform this, you have to press the power button + volume up button, and just as the phone restarts, press the power button + volume down button. This will take you to the fast boot screen, from where you can navigate using the volume keys. You need to select “Reboot” or “Start” and press the power button to select it. This should attempt to reboot your phone into Android.
If even that doesn’t work, then you have to use recovery mode. If restarting doesn’t work and you are still stuck in a boot loop, you can boot into Recovery Mode from the fastboot screen. From fast boot mode, use the volume buttons to navigate to the option for “Recovery Mode” and select it with the power button. Once in recovery mode, you can try clearing the cache partition (which does not erase data).
If that doesn’t work, as a last resort, you can perform a factory reset from recovery mode, but this will erase all data on the phone. Or if the reason is corrupted files, you could use Android Debug Bridge command-line tools to try and flash your phone’s firmware once again.

Conclusion
In most cases, one of these three methods can help you escape the boot loop. A boot loop can most certainly be frustrating, but it is not necessarily harmful. Most boot loops are caused because of glitches and faulty communication within the software, and shouldn’t end up damaging the phone. Trying these methods can help you to boot your phone back to its software.
