Galaxy S25 vs OnePlus 13 – Which Flagship is Best for You?

As 2025 has started, smartphone brands have begun releasing iterations to their smartphone lineups. Two companies that have recently released talk-worthy smartphones are Samsung and OnePlus.

Samsung, in their Galaxy Unpacked 2025 unveiled the Galaxy S25. The S25 is more of a minor refresh to the S24, bringing barely anything new to the table. The talking point of the new Galaxy base phone is its processor— the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite, capable of great performance. The S25 is underwhelming, as it could have featured a lot more, but Samsung is shipping it with just a new processor, and a slightly updated design with camera rings similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Another talking point of the Galaxy S25 is the software. Samsung launched One UI 7, a beautiful Android skin that can be greatly customized. The highlight of One UI 7 is the Now Bar—a pill-shaped UI element in the Lock Screen that can give useful information such as timers, voice recording, and even Google Maps.

OnePlus also launched its iteration of its flagship number series—the OnePlus 13. And it brings a lot to the plate. For starters, the OnePlus 13 also features the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Further, all three cameras have been upgraded to 50 MP. The battery has also been upgraded to 6000mAh from 5400mAh. The phone now also features IP68 and IP69 water resistance, making it more durable against water and dust than the OnePlus 12. To make things even better, the device now has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Now juxtaposing the Galaxy S25 and the OnePlus 13, this will help you decide which of the two phones is the one meant for you.

Size and Battery

  • The Galaxy S25 is for people who prefer small, lighter phones and are ready to give up battery life. The S25 packs a 4000mAh battery without fast charging.
  • The OnePlus 13 is for people who don’t mind dimensions but don’t want to give up battery life. The phone packs a 6000mAh battery with 100W fast charging (0-100% in around 35 minutes).

Software

  • The S25 is for people who prefer One UI and its extensive customization with GoodLock. Samsung has refreshed the skin with One UI 7, featuring a redesigned control center and Now Bar.
  • The OnePlus 13 is for people who want a smooth and fast experience with buttery animations. OxygenOS 15 brings the smoothest animations to Android, alongside a good implementation of Apple’s Dynamic Island, called Fluid Cloud.

Cameras

  • The S25 is for people who don’t have cameras as their main priority. There have been no hardware upgrades from the Galaxy S24, featuring the same 50-12-10 main, ultra wide and telephoto lenses, and a 12 MP front camera.
  • The OnePlus 13 is for people who have cameras as their main priority. The OnePlus 13 features excellent cameras, upgraded from its predecessor to feature three 50 MP lenses. It also has a 32 MP selfie camera. The OnePlus 13 also has Hasselblad branding, meaning that the phone has Hasselblad color profiles.

Pricing

This is what is going to be the most interesting. The Galaxy S25 costs ₹80,999, while the OnePlus 13 costs ₹69,999. There has been a price hike of ₹2000 and ₹5000 respectively. Both devices start with 12GB/256GB storage options.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the OnePlus 13 offers way more for much less than the Galaxy S25. Better cameras, better battery, and overall better value for money. It’s better to go for the OnePlus 13, as it packs a punch and doesn’t drill a hole in the bank. The S25 is the one for you if budget isn’t a problem, and are willing to give up on cameras and battery for that beautiful One UI experience.
