Cosmic Byte Falcon Review – The Best Gaming Mouse Under ₹1000?

Cosmic Byte If you have been looking for a budget gaming mouse, you must have known this name before. The Cosmic Byte Falcon is an upgrade to the Firestorm, we think, because it has better switches, has 10 million more clicks on the switches, and has more PTFE labels than the Firestorm mouse. Still, this mouse doesn’t have RGB, which is a good addition to the mouse, and it features a 39% lighter body than the Firestorm. The Falcon weighs 48 grams, while the Firestorm weighs 67 grams, though the sensor is the same. Honestly, this doesn’t need an upgrade because the PixArt 3327 on the Falcon is a good sensor in the sub-1k price range.

Design

Cosmic Byte Falcon

The Falcon features a sleek plastic body, similar to other mice in its category, but it lacks the RGB lighting commonly found in competing models. It does have a small amount of RGB on the scroll wheel, which cannot be adjusted. The mouse features seven customizable buttons that can be assigned to any task. Additionally, there is a polling button on the back side of the mouse, which could be configured for changing the DPI or polling rates.

Overall, the mouse has an attractive design and the design of the mouse looks good, and it also looks like it’s a bit copied from the higher-end mouse designs. By the way, even after packing these features, the mouse feels lightweight thanks to its 48-gram design, which is a good thing for the mouse and will help in making faster movements.

Performance

The Falcon mouse features a Pixart 3327 sensor, which is the best sensor in its sub-1k price range. Priced around 900, it offers excellent value for a high-quality sensor that is useful for gaming, and the sensor features a 1000 Hz polling rate, 220 IPS, and 30 g acceleration. The mouse is equipped with PTFE feet, which can enhance glide quality. The sensor features a wide range of DPI settings, starting from 200 DPI to 12400 DPI. The mouse is equipped with Huano mouse switches, which enhance the gaming experience, making it a good choice for gamers. The mouse includes a lightweight, flexible paracord cable, an improvement over the standard cables typically found in this segment.

Software

The software for the mouse can be downloaded from Cosmic Byte’s Dropbox, which feels a bit unusual. Surprisingly, the mouse software is found on Dropbox rather than on the website, and the User Interface of the software isn’t that good. The software cannot be displayed in full screen as there is no option available. Even basic software includes this functionality, but Cosmic Byte cuts costs here. and the software features three sections.

Cosmic Byte Falcon

The first section allows you to customize the mouse’s buttons. The second section focuses on performance, which is to tune the mouse for the best performance, like adjusting the DPI settings, polling rate, and mouse scroll speeds. Double-click speed and key response There are profiles to add for the mouse settings so you can have a lot of profiles, like one for basic use and one for gaming, which is a good addition by Cosmic Byte, and macro settings for the mouse, which is a good addition too.

Pricing and Conclusion

The mouse costs 1000 Rs, but you would likely be finding this mouse on offer for 949. I purchased my mouse for 949 using a coupon that gave me a discount of ₹50, and the experience with the mouse has been good. However, I think Cosmic Byte needs to improve the software.

If you are looking for another recommendation, I suggest the Razer DeathAdder Essential mouse; it’s also good for gaming and comes from the trusted brand Razer. The design of the mouse looks good. Honestly, it is high time for a cosmic byte to fix the issues or at least hire a good software team to fix the software issues, which could be good if you are a budget gamer and are looking for a good budget mouse. Consider the Razer DeathAdder Essential and the Falcon mouse if mouse software is not a concern.
