Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 17 Ultra as an addition to their 17 Series and successor to the 15 Ultra. In this article, we go through specifications, features and pricing.
Performance
Xiaomi 17 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with an LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
Display
The 17 Ultra features a 6.9-inch AMOLED 2K display with a resolution of 2608×1200 pixels, supporting a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a minimum brightness of 1 nit, with a Peak brightness of up to 3500 nits. This Display is also capable of HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. This Display is protected by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 protection, which gives improved Drop Resistance up to 20 times compared to normal Glass. Xiaomi has implemented the 2k display in a way that’s more power efficient than the 1.5k display models.
Cameras
Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a Triple Back camera setup consisting of a 50MP 1-inch OV50X Light Fusion 1050L OIS main camera. It also debuts a 1/1.4-inch 200MP OIS periscope telephoto sensor, capable of 3.2x–4.3x optical zoom and telemacro. At last, a 50MP JN5 ultra-wide-angle sensor. On the front of the 17 Ultra is a 50MP selfie camera. The rear camera setup supports rotating mechanical zoom.

The flagship has a large 6800mAh battery supporting up to 90W wired fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra has an ultrasonic 3D in-display fingerprint sensor for faster and secure unlocking, Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, X-axis linear motor for better haptics. It also has a Type-C port rated for USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds and supports Xiaomi Star Communication. Moreover, this is the 1st Xiaomi Ultra Phone with Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology.
Connectivity
The 17 ultra supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and has an IR blaster and supports NFC.

Global Launch
Xiaomi 17 Ultra is said to launch globally with a smaller battery capacity compared to the Chinese variant. The Chinese variant has a larger 6,800 mAh battery, while the global variant might only have a smaller 6,000 mAh battery.
