iQOO has launched the iQOO 15 in India, which looks impressive and is priced more competitively than its rivals. It is also the most affordable 8 Elite Gen 5 device available, making it an excellent choice for gamers who want top-tier performance at a great price.

The iQOO 15 comes in two colours: Legend and Alpha. The Legend colour is white, and the Alpha colour is a new addition in black. The back panel features AG frosting and AF coating, providing anti-glare and anti-fingerprint protection. It is crafted with a matte metal frame and a floating camera design, which enhances the phone’s overall appearance. Additionally, the device includes the Monster Halo feature, where the rear lights in the camera ring light up with dynamic effects and support for full-colour customisation to match your vibe. The display also features IP68/69 for water and dust resistance.
Display


The iQOO 15 features a 6.85-inch. OLED display with 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. It incorporates Samsung’s Lead display technology along with new M14 light-emitting materials, which reduce motion blur by 60% and give a 50% longer lifespan breakthrough and 41% lower power efficiency. This improvement is achieved by replacing the polariser with a nano-photolithography filter film and the new M14 material. These achievements lower the power consumption by 41%. The display can reach 2600 nits of global brightness and 6000 nits of peak brightness. It also includes anti-reflective film to minimise screen reflections.
When it comes to eye protection, the phone now features a triple ambient light sensor, which helps the phone adjust the brightness based on the scenario faster and more accurately, and it comes with Eye Protection 2.0 and with hardware-based game eye protection with competitive mode and soothing mode, and the removal of the polarizer softens the display to mimic natural light, reducing eye strain and enhancing viewing comfort, and the new 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, according to iQOO, helps unlock the phone 97% faster than iQOO 13.
Performance


The iQOO 15 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, which is built on a 3 nm process node. It features LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. In testing, the phone achieved a score of 4.18 million in the Antutu benchmark. The new Q3 chip allows for self-developed ray tracing in supported games and PC-grade super resolution. This real-time 2K super resolution enhances textures and surroundings, allowing users to have high-quality gameplay. Lossless frame interpolation allows for 144 fps ultra-smooth gameplay. Gamers can combine super resolution and lossless frame interpolation to achieve impressive graphics and smoother performance. The phone includes the industry’s first dual-axis vibration motor with 4D Vibration for ringtones, resulting in fewer missed calls.
To cool the powerful CPU, the phone has an 8K VC cooling system and also features a dual-layer graphite sheet, which is over 14000 mm² in area, and a super thermal gel, and its VC area is 14% larger, has a 10% larger cooling area, has a 47% higher graphite cooling efficiency, and has a 33% better gel cooling performance and this powerful CPU and the VC combo allows for live game streaming with stable framerates (119.5 fps average in MLBB and 119 fps average in BGMI) with the highest temperature of 43.2 degrees in BGMI and 42.7 in MLBB, and the software is developed by iQOO for instant, seamless game streaming with a single tap.
Cameras
The iQOO 15 features a 50MP IMX 921 main camera with self-developed OIS stabilization technology, and it is 1/1.56 in size, and it has a 50MP telephoto camera, which is an IMX 882, which has 3x optical zoom and up to 100x zoom and a 50MP zoom, ultra-wide sensor and a 32MP selfie camera, and a nice algorithm and large-model image enhancement technology help it capture long-range landscapes and vibrant city nightscapes in high definition. The new live photo mode supports the 85mm portrait function with 2K resolution and AIGC capabilities, which helps the user change the seasons in photos with just a single tap.
Battery
The iQOO 15 features a 7000 mAh battery with a 4th-gen silicon anode battery and a 2nd-generation semi-solid battery, which helps the battery perform great even at -20 degrees and 40 degrees, and the phone supports 100W flash charge with PD/PPS protocols, charging and the phone also has bypass charging to power the CPU via the charger, and the phone also has 40W of wireless charging.
OS
The iQOO 15 comes with Origin OS 6 pre-installed out of the box, and the phone will also receive 5 major Android updates with 7 years of security updates, which is an improvement over the iQOO 13’s update policy. And the Origin Smooth Engine for 5 years of smooth experience with ultra-core computing and memory fusion, along with dual rendering and smoother animations on the phone. Origin Island and Office Kit integrate the Origin OS into a multi-device workspace, which includes remote PC, screen mirroring, cross-device file transfer and several improvements to the OS.

The iQOO 15 is available for ₹72,999 for the 12GB+256GB model and ₹79,999 for the 16GB+512GB variant. Additionally, there is a ₹7,000 instant bank discount available on EMI payments, and some banks offer it on credit and debit card payments. It also includes a ₹7,000 exchange offer. With these offers, the effective pricing is 64,999 for the 12+256GB variant and the 16+512GB variant priced at ₹72,999, which is pretty good.
