Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 17 series in China, which includes the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, as successors to last year’s Xiaomi 15 Series. The naming skips the 16 Series to match Apple’s iPhone lineup.
Xiaomi 17
Starting with the base Xiaomi 17, the display is a 6.3-inch TCL Huaxing M10 luminescent flat OLED Panel with a 2K (2656×1220) resolution and support for up to 120Hz LTPO Dynamic Refresh Rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming.
Xiaomi 17 is powered by the latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with the Adreno 840 GPU. It also has a 3D ring-shaped cooling system.
Regarding cameras, on the back, Base 17 features a 50MP 1/1.31″ Light Hunter 950 OIS Main Camera Sensor, a 50MP 1/2.88″ OV50M ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50MP Samsung 1/2.75″ JN5 telephoto lens. On the front, The Phone has Omnivision’s 50MP 1/2.88″ OV50M front.
It has a large 7000mAh battery with support for up to 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, a Pengpai P3 fast charging chip and a Pengpai G2 battery management chip.
The Phone features a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, Dual stereo speakers and an X-axis linear motor for a better haptic experience.
Xiaomi 17 is rated for IP66, IP68 and IP69 For Dust and water resistance. The display is protected by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass and is 1.18mm thick on all sides For Durable Design. It also has a Fast, Smooth and secure ultrasonic in-display fingerprint.
Coming to Connectivity, it has support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and IR Blaster. It also has in-house Xiaomi T1 & T1P signal booster chips and an Independent Bluetooth antenna.
Xiaomi 17 comes in four colours: Pink, Black, White, and Blue.
Xiaomi 17 Pro Series
Coming to the Superior and expensive 17 Pro Lineup, the Pro has a 6.3-inch TCL Huaxing M10 luminescent LTPO OLED Display Panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K (2656×1220) resolution. The Pro Max has a 6.9-inch TCL OLED Panel with 2K (2608×1200) resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. Both displays can go up to 3500nits peak brightness, 2160Hz PWM Dimming, and are protected by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0 Protection and are 1.18mm narrow on all sides.
On the back, the 17 Pro and Pro Max have a 2.66-inch TCL Huaxing OLED with 904×572 Resolution. The back display supports personalised wallpapers, AI wallpapers, and Dynamic notifications.
Xiaomi 17 Pro has a large 6300mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery, which supports up to 100W fast charging, 20W wireless reverse charging, and 50W wireless fast charging, 22.5W wired reverse charging, while the 17 Pro Max comes with a larger 7500mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery, supporting 100W fast charging, 20W wireless reverse charging, 50W wireless fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging.
Both Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max are powered by the latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, LPDDR5X RAM and a UFS 4.1 flash storage.
Xiaomi 17 Pro has a 4637mm² 3D ring-type cooling system, while the Pro Max has a 5533mm² 3D ring-type cooling system
Both 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max have an in-house built-in Surge P3 fast charging chip and Surge G2 battery management chip.
Coming to Cameras, Both Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max have a Triple Rear camera Setup, consisting of a 50MP Light Hunter 950L 1/1.28″ OIS main camera, 50MP 1/1.288″ OV50M ultra-wide angle camera, and 50MP 1/2.75″Samsung S5KJN5 OIS periscope tele. On the front is a 50MP 1/2.88″ OV50M selfie camera.
Coming to Connectivity, both have an ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna, Wi-Fi 7, in-house Xiaomi T1 & T1P signal booster chips, and an Independent Bluetooth antenna, IR Blaster, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.3.
Both Pro and Pro Max have an X-axis linear motor, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, Dual stereo speakers, and a 4-microphone array.
Xiaomi 17 Pro Series comes in black, white, purple, and green colours.
