Xiaomi’s President Lu Weibing has made a post announcement on Weibo, confirming that the new Xiaomi 17 Series will launch later this month. This year, Xiaomi is launching its flagship Phone Lineup a month earlier than its last phone lineup.
Xiaomi describes the Xiaomi 17 Series Launch as the biggest leap in the history of their Digital Phone series, marking a turning point in their five-year journey of transformation.
President Lu Weibing’s Weibo post also reveals that Xiaomi’s Flagship 17 Series lineup will include a total of three models: Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, similar to Apple’s Flagship Lineup.
Xiaomi 17 Series’s all three phones will globally come with Qualcomm’s latest Flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite Mobile Platform Chipset.
Xiaomi places the base standard Xiaomi 17 as its most powerful base flagship ever, offering a full-scale upgrade even without a price increase. While the Xiaomi 17 Pro is designed as a compact, high-tech imaging flagship, the 17 Pro Max is positioned at the very top as Xiaomi’s most advanced camera phone to ever launch.
Xiaomi emphasises that this progress comes from years of consistent effort. The Post also reveals that over the past few years, the Brand has invested more than ¥100 billion in Research and Development, and plans to double that to ¥200 billion in the next few years.
Xiaomi has shifted its focus from a specs race to an experience-first approach. In this approach, hardware and software are deeply integrated to eliminate weaknesses and deliver a premium user experience.
Xiaomi’s President Lei Jun on Weibo Post said the Xiaomi 17 Series will bring fresh ideas to make phones less boring, and the brand is confident that it can rival Apple’s iPhone 17 on the same level.
Xiaomi is renaming the Xiaomi 16 Series, and the New Lineup will be called the 17 Series To Match Apple’s iPhone 17 Lineup.
