WhatsApp is a popular messaging app at present time. It is easy to communicate with our contacts on WhatsApp. But sometimes important conversations are mixed up among the other chats and groups causing inconvenience to the users.

One way to solve this problem is to pin important chats on top of others. However, Chat Pinning is limited to only three chats, which doesn’t fully solve this problem.

Recently, WABetaInfo spotted Meta developing a Favourites Option for WhatsApp chats on iOS. This provides you quick access to your important contacts and conversations. As all your favourite contacts will reside in a separate tab, away from the cluttered main chat list. Now, WABetaInfo has reported similar findings for WhatsApp Web as well.

The attached screenshot shows that WhatsApp is introducing a favourite contacts feature. With this, Users can filter chats by manually selecting the important conversations and contacts they care about the most. This will improve the WhatsApp user experience and reduce inconvenience of the users by giving them easy access to these chats.

So, introducing a dedicated filter to select favourite contacts and filter the chat list is particularly advantageous for users who manage numerous conversations on WhatsApp. By allowing the users to separate their favourite contacts, WhatsApp enables them to prioritize their key conversations and ensures quick and easy access of the important chats to the users.

As WhatsApp’s favourite contacts feature is still a work in progress, so there is limited clarity about the final implementation. Now, if WhatsApp does not limit the number of favourites you can add then it will be more better for busy users.

WhatsApp is continuously working on improving its user experience and making this platform more engaging for users. This feature is under development for the web version but as of now, there is no such information available for Android users.
