If you are looking for a fantastic phone that excels across performance, camera quality, and AI capabilities, but should also be affordable. The realme GT 7 is the underrated phone you need to know about, and it’s too good for the price.
Design
The realme GT 7 features an innovative ice sense design. It features the industry’s first ice sense graphene design, and it has a cool-looking space viewport on the back of the smartphone. The frame is an iridium laser-etched frame. Additionally, realme claims that the smartphone comes with a pro gaming coating, which removes the slippery feeling while holding the phone for long gaming sessions. The smartphone comes in two colours, classic blue and black, and it also has an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance.

Display
The realme GT 7 features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 360 Hz with support for 8T LTPO on the display, which means that the phone can automatically switch refresh rates to 1 Hz when the images are static, and the phone supports Dolby Vision video playback.
realme gt 7 has 2160 Hz PWM dimming, so when you are using the phone in dim light, the PWM dimming gives less strain to your eyes, which is a great feature, and the display also has support for HDR 10+ and support for Rainwater Smart Touch, which is actually a great feature since some flagships don’t have the feature and the phone has 6000 nits of peak brightness.

Performance

The realme GT 7 features a Dimensity 9400e, which is pretty great when you compare it to the competition, and the phone features LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0. The Antutu score for the chip is over 2.5 million points, and the phone also features GT Boost, whose AI algorithm can provide full-frame gaming with ultra-low power draw, and Realme claims that the GT 7 can game at 120 fps in over 20+ games.
To cool this performant chip, the phone gets an ultra-large 7700 mm² airflow VC, which covers 65% of the phone, and for the thermal compound, Realme is using a high-performance thermal conductive gel with a 6-degree core temperature drop from GT 6, and with bionic heat sensing, it can reduce the heat of the whole phone, and the back panel of the smartphone is made with graphene that’s approximately 24x more thermally conductive than plastic and 6x more than glass, so that’s actually great since the backplate helps improve the overall heat of the phone.
Camera
The realme GT 7 features an 50 megapixel IMX 906 camera of the phone, a 50 MP 2x telephoto camera, which is a Samsung JN5, and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, and we are getting a 32 MP IMX 615 as the selfie camera of the smartphone, and all the cameras except the 8 MP ultra-wide can capture 4K at 30 and 60 fps and 8K at 30 fps.
The phone has support for AI 2K Live Photo, so we can view the live photos now in 2K resolution with Pro-XDR support, and the cameras have support for 4K 60 fps video recording with Dolby Vision format recording, which is awesome, and 4K 120 fps slow-motion videos and 4K in the selfie cameras thanks to the 32 MP selfie camera.
Battery
The realme GT 7 is equipped with a silicon-anode 7000 mAh battery, and with that 7000 mAh battery, you can play games nonstop for 7 hours at 120 fps. For fast-charging, the phone supports 120W of fast charging, which can top up the phone from 0 to 50% in just 14 minutes. Given the massive 7000 mAh battery, the phone can be fully charged in just 40 minutes.
And thanks to Realme’s battery chip, Realme claims that there is a 300% increase in battery life during gaming scenarios and 90% less heat when compared to industry-standard bypass charging.
OS
The realme GT 7 comes pre-installed with Realme UI 6 based on Android 15, but Realme has promised that it will get Android 16 before the end of the year. The phone will continue to receive three major operating system updates and five years of security patches after the rollout of Android 16, which is a positive aspect. The phone has a lot of gaming features like AI Planner with a double tap on the back panel and more, like AI Eraser, AI Glare Remover, AI Recording Summary, AI Writer, and AI Gaming Coach, which help with gaming options.
Pricing
The realme GT 7 starts at 36,999 for the 8+256 variant and 39,999 for the 12+256 variant and 43,999 for the 12+512 variant, and to make things so good, we are getting a 3,000 rs cashback on the device, so it is 33,999 for the 8+256 variant, 36,999 for the 12+256 variant, and 40,999 for the 12+512 variant, which is pretty great pricing.
Verdict
If you’re looking for a phone that offers strong performance, a great camera setup, good battery life, excellent charging speeds, and a lot of AI features, the realme GT 7 could be a great choice. It features a 9400e, which is the best in the segment. The camera setup is also noteworthy, although the 8MP ultra-wide lens may not be good. The 7000 mAh battery with 120W charging has exceptional battery performance. Additionally, Realme provides a solid set of AI features along with three years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates.
