Samsung has finally begun the One UI 8.5 testing for the Galaxy S25 Series. The device was recently spotted on Samsung’s test server. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is the first officially released device that was spotted with One UI 8.5 as of now. The build was spotted by Akhilesh Kumar on X.

S938BXXU5CYIA.
This test build is based on Android 16 and carries the September 2025 Security Patch. This was spotted after the stable release of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 Series.
One UI 8 vs One UI 8.5
One UI 8.5 will be a refinement update over One UI 8. While One UI 8 focuses on stability and smoother animations, One UI 8.5 is expected to be a stable version of it and also add some UI tweaks here and there. Early leaks suggest a few changes in My Files App, Phone App & a few others.

It will not be a drastic change like One UI 7 was compared to One UI 6, but more of a polished upgrade to ensure smoother day-to-day usage.
One UI 8.5 Official Release Timeline
Samsung will launch One UI 8.5 officially with the Galaxy S26 Series in Early 2026. The Galaxy S26 Series will debut with One UI 8.5 pre-installed. At present, Samsung has released the stable One UI 8 Update for the S25 Series in several regions.
Devices that will receive One UI 8 in 2025 itself
Other devices are yet to receive the stable One UI 8 update. After the stable release of One UI 8 for the S25 Series, next up, the Galaxy S24 Series and Galaxy Z Fold/Flip6 are expected to receive the One UI 8 Update.
Samsung has also released the list of devices that will receive the One UI 8 Stable Update in 2025 itself. The list includes the Galaxy S25 Series, Galaxy S24 Series, Galaxy Z Fold/Flip6, and Galaxy Z Fold/Flip5. It also includes many A-Series Devices like the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, Galaxy A55, Galaxy A35 & budget A-series devices like the Galaxy A06.
It also includes the newly launched Galaxy Tab A11. The exact list mentioning all devices that will get One UI 8 in 2025 will be shared by us soon. Samsung India is yet to post the exact One UI 8 Rollout timeline for India.
