realme has launched the GT 7 pro which is their newest flagship phone from the GT lineup.
Design, Speakers
The realme GT 7 Pro features a triple camera setup on the back. It is also IP69 dust and water-resistant, with 2 metres of waterproof depth and 30 minutes of waterproof time. realme also says that the phone’s design has an aviation aluminium feel, which is smooth while durable. It has a Mars texture and a space viewport for endless opportunities in the unknown. The GT 7 Pro boasts an immersive dual stereo speaker setup that enhances the audio quality and comes in two colours namely Galaxy Grey, and Mars Orange.
Display
The realme GT 7 pro features a Samsung Eco OLED plus display with 1.5k resolution and 8T LTPO adaptive refresh rate which would increase the display power efficiency by 52% with 6.78in screen and 120hz refresh rate and 2600hz touch response rate with 6500 nits of peak brightness but it won’t reach that 6500 nit peak brightness it would get that on a single pixel maybe and 2000 nits of HBM brightness it would go that 2000 nits of HBM brightness when you are out in the sun.
With HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision support with a 120% DCI P3 which is a much wider colour gamut on the phone’s display with quad curved display design with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor which would unlock the phone in 1.5 seconds and supports underwater and wet-finger unlocking. The smartphone boasts an immersive dual stereo speaker setup that enhances the audio quality.
Performance
The realme GT 7 Pro is India’s first smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Elite. It is equipped with UFS 4.0 storage, which offers 4 GB of read speeds, and features LPDDR5X RAM with 8533 Mbps speeds. It has an AI gaming super frame of up to 120fps interpolation optimized for gamers with AI gaming super-resolution with support for 1.5k res, which is beyond the native limit for the games.
The GT 7 Pro has a 11480 mm² dual-vapor chamber cooling system to keep the 8 Elite chipset cool under the load, 30% better heat transfer, ultra touch control to optimize the frequently used touch areas to improve accuracy and response speed, and 4D vibration for the customizable in-game vibrations to provide precise vibration feedback with an immersive experience, and it has an x-axis linear vibration motor for good haptics for the smartphone.
Camera
The realme GT 7 Pro features a Sony Triple flagship camera with IMX 906 as the primary camera sensor with 50mp of resolution and has OIS support on both the primary camera and the telephoto camera and IMX 355 for 8mp ultra-wide camera which isn’t that powerful if you look at the pricing actually and the last final camera as IMX 882 3x periscope camera with 3x optical zoom and 50mp camera resolution with upto 120x of digital zoom with ultra clear results from ai zoom clarity algorithm and underwater mode with IP69 waterproofing you can capture the magic of the underwater world and has live photo support with mutual iOS support.
It has a 16MP selfie camera with 1080p 60 fps of video recording on the front camera on the max side and 8k 24fps on the back camera 1080 60fps on the front camera isn’t that good when you say like even midrange phones have 4k 30 fps video support on the front camera.
Battery
The realme GT 7 pro features a 5800mAh silicon carbon battery and Realme says a 1% battery can provide the users upto 40minutes of audio playback on the Spotify application it features the 120w ultra-fast charger which could get the phone’s 5800mah battery to 50% in 11min and a full charge in 30min and the charger is a gan charger which would maintain good temperatures on the charger even though you are playing while charging the smartphone.
Software
On the software side, the realme GT 7 Pro features the Realme UI 6, which is based on Android 15, and has flux themes, touch to share live alerts, and a lot of AI features like AI sketch to image, AI motion deblur, AI eraser 2.0, AI night vision mode, AI studio, and AI smart loop 2.0.
Pricing, Availablity
The realme GT 7 Pro comes in two variants 12GB+256 GB variant and the 16GB+512 GB variant priced at INR 59,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant and INR 65,999 for the 16GB+512GB variant and also has an INR 3000 instant bank discount and 12 months of free screen damage protection, these end on 1st December, at 12 PM sharply.
Verdict
The realme GT 7 Pro isn’t a real flagship phone as you are missing out on the camera elements, and the price for the smartphone doesn’t really help. You can only consider buying this phone if you want the highest level of performance if you are looking for a good performance and camera system. I think this phone might disappoint with 1080p 60FPS on the front, a 16 MP selfie camera, and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera system.
