The Blaze X 5G claims to be the first smartphone in the segment to feature a Curved AMOLED display. Here are its detailed specifications –

Design and Build

The Lava Blaze X 5G features a glass back panel and a circular camera module. It has curved edges which make it feel comfortable when you hold it.

Display: The Best Display Under 15000?

This smartphone has a stunning 6.67-inch FHD+ Curved AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. This is currently the only 5G phone under 15000 with a Curved display.

Generally, you don’t even get an AMOLED display at this price, but you are getting a Curved display with this phone, which provides a premium look and feel to the smartphone.

Performance

It boasts a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, an octa-core chipset based on 6nm architecture. It has 2 cores Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.4 GHz, 6 cores Cortex-A55 clocked at 2 GHz and a Mali-G57 MP2 GPU. This chipset is good for day-to-day usage but better options are available if your priority is gaming.

Software

Lava has gone ahead with a  clean UI with no Ads and Bloatware from the very start and this smartphone has the same story. It comes with Android version 14 out of the box and the brand is promising 1 year of major Android updates and 2 years of security patches.

Cameras

Rear Camera

There is a dual camera setup on the back which has a 16MP IMX 882 main camera and a 2MP Macro camera.

Front Camera

The front camera is a 16MP sensor.

Battery and Charging

Talking about the battery department, it has a 5000mAh battery and supports 33W wired charging. You will get the charging brick inside the box for free.

RAM and Storage

This smartphone has LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

Lava Blaze X 5G – Starlight Purple

The Lava Blaze X 5G will be available in two colors – Titanium Grey and Starlight Purple. It will be sold in 3 variants – 4GB + 128GB for Rs 14999, 6GB + 128GB for Rs 15999 and 8GB + 128GB for Rs 16999.

A card discount worth Rs 1000 will be available for the first sale. It will be sold online through Amazon.

Competition

talking about the competition, the Lava Blaze X 5G competes with phones like the iQOO Z9x, realme P1 and CMF Phone 1. All these phones have a more powerful processor as compared to the Blaze X and these phones will receive 2 years of Android updates whereas the Blaze will get only one.

The Blaze X has an edge because of its Curved display but the other phones in the competition are not very far.  The CMF Phone 1 and the realme P1 also feature an AMOLED display with a better processor and a better camera. If you want to buy a phone that should have a curved display, you can look at other phones like Lava’s own Agni 2 smartphone. Its 8Gb + 256Gb variant is currently available for Rs 16999 on Amazon which makes it a better deal because of its powerful processor, faster charging and better camera.

Final Words

This is all about the newly launched Lava BlazeX 5G smartphone. This smartphone could be an easy recommendation if it had a more powerful processor like the Dimensity 7050 or the Dimensity 7300. it’s still the only phone with a curved display under 15000 but I will recommend you to go with the other options like the CMF Phone 1 or the realme P1. This smartphone has many compromises just in exchange for a curved display.
