iQOO recently teased the launch of their most awaited flagship of 2024, the iQOO 13 which will be launching soon and be an entry-level flagship with the latest of everything. Let’s dive right into it!

iQOO 13

iQOO 13 is the newest generation of flagship series to be launched by iQOO tentatively by early December. The device is a great flagship for people looking into a similar option while maintaining a reasonable price.

iQOO 12 was surely the most well-priced and one of the most value-for-money smartphones launched over the past year and iQOO 13 is expected to continue that legacy but there is a catch.

Specifications

1. Design and Display:

iQOO 13 display

iQOO retains its new signature design, which brought in the iQOO 12 with the iQOO 13, with an additional aura light similar to the recently launched Z9s Pro. This retention of identity is a good design choice for marketing as well as setting their own standards. It has a sleek boxy design with a flat metal frame and glass back.

The display was recently teased by iQOO to be a BOE Q10 display. It will be a very similar display to the previous iQOO 12. A flagship 6.7-inch 144Hz AMOLED panel with third-generation LTPO technology.

2. Processor

iQOO 13 is expected to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or 8 Elite, the latest and greatest from Qualcomm with a leaked Antutu score of 3 lakh! It will also have up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB storage.

Snapdragon 8 elite

Based on the new TSMC 3nm node, the Snapdragon 8 Elite is a very big leap from 8 Gen 3 which will be noticeable from daily tasks to the processing of AI features which according to brands is the “necessity”.

iQOO 12 was the first, yet most optimised 8 Gen 3 device at launch and even now. Thus iQOO 13 is the go-to if you’re into gaming and need the absolute best device with maximum performance.

3. Cameras

The iQOO 13 is pretty much a huge downgrade in terms of camera from iQOO 12. Firstly it downgrades the main sensor to IMX 921 which has a smaller sensor size compared to the omnivision sensor on iQOO 12. Moreover, the 3x periscope lens from 12 has been downgraded to a lame 2x lens in 13. The ultrawide sensor remains the same.

All these cost cuttings were due to the higher price of Snapdragon 8 Elite. This also means that most of the Android flagships launching in the upcoming months will be priced on the higher side.

4. Battery and Charging

The iQOO 13 will come with a massive 6100mAh battery and 120W Flash charging with a PD Charger in the box. Silicon-carbon battery tech being used instead of Li-ion is the reason for this significant increase in the capacity of devices launched in the upcoming months.

This massive leap in the battery is surely the most welcome change in the tech industry as almost all departments saw a leap in technology except battery tech.

iQOO 13

According to some leaks, the iQOO 13 might be the first-ever iQOO phone to offer wireless charging with a charging support of  50W.

5. Software

iQOO 13 will tip with FuntouchOS 15 based on Android 15 and will have support for 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates. This is the very first iQOO device to offer 4 years of OS updates.

FuntouchOS was recently launched and is now available to update on the latest iQOO and Vivo flagships. They have worked out on many of the issues raised by users and added many new features.

Tentative launch

The launch of iQOO 13 in India is set for December 3, 2024. It will be one of the very first flagship devices to launch in India. The price of iQOO 13 is expected to be under ₹65000 for the base 12GB 256GB variant similar to the iQOO 12 price.
