HONOR 200 vs Motorola Edge 50 Pro: Specifications Based Comparison
Design and Build
The HONOR 200 features a glass back design whereas the Motorola Edge 50 Pro went with a vegan leather back. Both the designs are equally premium and it depends on you whether you want a glass back that doesn’t attract scratches easily but glass is glass and it can break or you want vegan leather which won’t break but can face issues like permanent stains and tear with time.
Display
The 200 provides you a premium quad-curved 6.7-inch 1.5K resolution OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support and 4000nits of peak brightness in HDR mode.
The Edge 50 Pro is also not behind, it boasts a dual-curved 6.7-inch 1.5K resolution OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate support and 2000nits of peak brightness in HDR mode.
Both the displays are great and you won’t be disappointed if you choose any of these. The HONOR has a trending quad-curved display whereas the Moto has a higher 144Hz refresh rate display.
Performance
Both these phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. This latest chip is a 4nm octa-core chip which has 1 core Cortex-A715 clocked at 2.6GHz, 3 cores Cortex-A715 clocked at 2.4GHz and 4 cores Cortex-A510 clocked at 1.8GHz. It’s powered by the Adreno 720 GPU.
This isn’t the best chipset in this price range and both these don’t even target gamers. You have better options if gaming is your topmost priority. 7 Gen 3 is a good chip and can provide good gaming performance but it not the best in this price range.
Software
The HONOR runs on MagicOS 8.0 whereas the Motorola runs on Hello UI and both the UIs are based on Android 14. Both the UIs are feature-rich and have some pros and cons. The MagicOS has better app opening animations but it has some bloatware and ads whereas the Hello UI is cleaner and it also has good animations.
Talking about the update promise, HONOR is promising 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of security patches to this phone whereas Motorola is promising to provide 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security patches. Both the UIs are known for their delayed updates but Motorola has an edge because of an extra Android version update and Motorola has promised that they will now deliver updates on time.
Cameras
Cameras was the one department where Moto shocked everyone this year. They did a drastic improvement in their processing and probably that’s the reason why the Edge 50 Pro’s main selling point is its camera performance. It has a triple rear camera setup of 50MP main + 12MP ultra-wide + 10MP 3X telephoto and a 50MP selfie camera. On the other hand, the HONOR has a 50MP main + 12MP ultra-wide + 50MP telephoto and a 50MP selfie camera.
The HONOR has an edge because of the 50MP telephoto camera however we need to wait for the reviews to decide how big of a difference HONOR has. Also, many users are reporting that the Edge 50 Pro has bugs in the camera app and it lags sometimes and Motorola hasn’t released any update to resolve this issue.
A user named Mohit tweeted on X (formerly known as Twitter) about the bugs that he’s facing in his Edge 50 Pro –
HONOR 200 Pro has a clear edge in the camera department.
Battery and Charging
HONOR has a big 5200mAh battery which supports 100W of wired charging whereas Motorola has a 4500mAh battery which supports 125W charging and 50W wireless charging but you will get a 68W charger with the base variant.
HONOR doesn’t bundle the charger with the phone but it’s currently providing the 100W charger for free. It has a bigger battery and faster charging in the base variant but if you want wireless charging, the Motorola is the only option.
RAM and Storage
It’s strange why Motorola opted for UFS 2.2 storage and LPDDR4X RAM in a phone that costs 30000. UFS 3.1 storage is common at this price range whereas some phones like the OnePlus Nord 4 provide UFS 4.0 storage type.
HONOR wins in the Storage department because it has a faster UFS 3.1 storage and has LPDDR4X RAM.
Audio and Haptics
Both the phones have dual speakers and similar haptics.
Reasons to buy the HONOR 200

- Bigger Battery: The Honor 200 has a bigger 5200mAh battery.
- Faster Charging: HONOR provides a 100W charger to both variants of the 200 whereas Motorola provides a 68W charger with the base variant of the Edge 50 Pro.

- Faster Storage: HONOR has a faster storage type.
- IR Blaster: The 200 has an IR sensor and with its help, you can control your remote-controlled electrical appliances like TV or AC.
Reasons to buy Motorola Edge 50 Pro
- Longer Software Support: Motorola is promising 3 years of Android updates with the Edge 50 Pro whereas the HONOR is promising only 2 years of Android updates for the 200.
- Wireless Charging: Motorola supports 50W wireless charging whereas the HONOR didn’t say anything like that.
- Better IP Rating: The Edge 50 Pro offers an IP68 rating which increases the chances of the phone surviving water splashes.
- Lesser Price: The Edge 50 Pro is priced at Rs 30000 for the 8GB + 256GB variant whereas the 200 is priced at Rs 35000 for the same variant however HONOR is providing a 2000 discount to every buyer which brings down the price to Rs 33000 but still, it costs Rs 3000 higher than the Moto. Even if we talk about the offers, the Moto costs Rs 28000 for the base variant whereas the HONOR costs Rs 31000.
