POCO announced at their POCO F6 event that they will indeed bring the POCO Pad to India along with some other products and accessories. Here’s a first look at the upcoming tablet, its specifications, its launch date and the expected price.
While the tablet has already been launched in some other markets, its yet to be launched in India.
Design
The POCO Pad combines a premium look and feel with practical design elements. It features a glass front protected by Gorilla Glass 3, an aluminum frame, and an aluminum back. The tablet will support a magnetic stylus named POCO Smart Pen, which will also be launched with the tablet, making it a versatile tool for both creative and productivity tasks.
Display
The POCO Pad is set to impress with its 12.1-inch IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision support, the display promises vibrant and immersive visuals. With a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio, users can expect sharp and clear images, making it ideal for streaming, browsing, and gaming.
Performance
Under the hood, the POCO Pad is going to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, an already tried and tested performer in the mid-range segment. Coupled with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 710 GPU, the tablet ensures smooth multitasking and efficient performance.
Memory and Storage
The tablet will sport up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. Additionally, a dedicated micro-SD card slot will allow for expandable storage, catering to users who need more space for their apps and media files.
Camera Features
The POCO Pad includes an 8 MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. The front-facing 8 MP camera with an f/2.3 aperture is designed for video calls and selfies, both capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps. However, cameras are not something worth buying the tablet for, expect only casual photography and document scanning at times.
Enhanced Audio and Connectivity
Audio quality is a highlight with the POCO Pad, thanks to its quad stereo speakers that deliver a rich and immersive sound experience. It also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack for those who prefer wired audio. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB Type-C 2.0. However, the tablet does not support cellular connectivity, NFC, or positioning features, at least in the regions it has been launched at.
Software
The Tablet will be launched with Xiaomi’s HyperOS for Pad with the POCO Launcher and touch on top. The UI is considered by many tech enthusiasts, one of the best in the Android Tablet space, with its amazing ecosystem features and functional UI.
In our honest opinion, what is going to be the weakest aspect of the phone is POCO itself. While Xiaomi has solved most of the problems people had with their software, POCO Launcher continues to be the worse variant of the Android skin. We really hope they fix the issue with the aesthetics and let the good features from the Xiaomi Pad 6 trickle down to their budget POCO Pad.
Long-lasting Battery Life
Equipped with a substantial 10,000 mAh battery, the POCO Pad ensures extended usage time, even for heavy tasks such as gaming and streaming. The device supports 33W wired charging with Power Delivery 3.0 and Quick Charge 3+ technologies, allowing for quick recharges and minimal downtime.
Conclusion
As POCO gears up to launch the POCO Pad in India, the anticipation is building around this feature-packed tablet. With its sleek design, vibrant display, powerful performance, and long battery life, the POCO Pad is set to make a significant impact in the Indian tablet market. Whether you’re a student, professional, or casual user, the POCO Pad offers a compelling mix of functionality and affordability. Do keep in mind that the software is still going to be questionable in terms of the aesthetics.
