He mentioned all this in a post following Apple’s WWDC 24 Event on Monday, 10th June 2024. As the brand mentioned in its event the consumers would have access to OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbox through Siri’s digital assistant. Apple planned to implement the AI (Apple Intelligence) features into the devices and apps to enhance the user experience in partnership with OpenAI.

Elon Musk was the co-founder of OpenAI at its early times but then he left it to focus on other fields. In the past too, he had spoken about the danger of AI and the safety implications of the speedy development of Artificial Intelligence technology.

Musk is the owner of X, he runs Tesla Inc. and SpaceX He is also working on his own AI, called as xAI, with a chatbox named Grok. You can access it within X with a premium subscription. However, it is not too advanced as of now compared to the competition.

His exact statement in the post was “If Apple integrates OpenAI at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned at my companies. That is an unacceptable security violation.”

Later he adds to the post “And visitors will have to check their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage”

Apple didn’t immediately respond to his comments.

Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, posted about the Apple Intelligence on X, and Elon replied “Don’t want it. Either stop this creepy spyware or all Apple devices will be banned from the premises of my companies.”

Apple says that the user data won’t be tracked and precautions will be taken. Apple mentioned that “Privacy protections are built-in when accessing ChatGPT within Siri,’’ and “Requests are not stored by OpenAI, and users’ IP addresses are obscured.”

In this way, Musk continued raising privacy concerns with Apple’s AI, saying that the company couldn’t make its own AI and had no clue what’s actually going on once they hand your data over to OpenAI.
