I got my hands on the CMF Buds 2 series, which includes the Buds 2a, Buds 2, and Buds 2 Plus that were released recently. After using them for a few days, here are my first impressions—a small write-up on what I like about each of these earbuds
This thread is divided into three parts. Part I covers the Buds 2a, Part II covers the Buds 2, and Part III covers the Buds 2 Plus. Do note that these are my initial thoughts after 1 week of usage. A detailed review thread shall be coming up soon.
Part I: Buds 2a

Price: ₹2199
- The entry-level earbuds into the CMF Buds 2 series, I have been liking the 2a very much.
- The sound it offers is excellent. It is justified for the price. The bass, especially, is very punchy. A good one for bassheads.
- The orange colour is great.
- The mids, in particular the vocals, are well heard.
- The ANC is very good, considering the fact that this is an entry-level TWS.
- Equalizer support is excellent. The Dirac preset is enough for most users.
- Very lightweight; good for on-the-go usage.

Part II: Buds 2

Price: ₹2699
- The CMF Buds 2 is a midrange TWS introduced recently. Immediately, it feels like a step up, more premium than the Buds 2a.
- The highlight of this pair is that its knob is transparent, and it is very reflective. A nod to the Nothing (Ear), I say!
- The Buds 2 offers Dirac Opteo, which is an audio enhancement technology that digitally optimizes sound quality using correction algorithms.
- The ANC is really good on this pair. Blocks a good portion of sound, suppresses fan noise, and muffles speech well. It also offers different levels of ANC (high/medium/low/adaptive).
- What I find particularly useful in this, which the 2a lacks, is in-ear detection. The Buds 2 pause whatever is playing when you take it off your ears.
- Provides spatial audio effects and audio directionality.
Part III: Buds 2 Plus

Price: ₹3299
- The eldest of the new, this is a pair of upper-midrange TWS.
- The case feels very premium. The finishing, which is soft to the touch, is marvelous.
- The knob is made of metal on this one, and it is very lustrous.
- ANC is the best on this one.
- Supports the LDAC audio codec, which allows for higher quality audio transmission over Bluetooth.
- Offers “Personal Sound,” which creates an audio profile based on a hearing test.

Also, after the limited two-hour launch sale of the Buds 2 and Buds 2 Plus on Flipkart, they will be coming back for purchase on July 25.
