The best smartphone deals on Flipkart for the April Sale

1: Nothing Phone 2A

The phone was launched for 23,999. It’s currently selling for the same price, with a 1000 INR discount on HDFC cards. Sometimes, there are other card offers and also an exchange bonus. The phone is one of the best overall options for the under 25,000 segment. It packs the MediaTek 7200 Pro chipset, which is much better than the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, and matches the Snapdragon 782G chipset.

The software experience is another major advantage of the Nothing Phone 2A. The design is extremely polarizing and lacks symmetry. However, it has Nothing’s unique Glyph Lights and a dual-centered camera setup. We don’t recommend this for gamers and for camera enthusiasts. The main camera is inconsistent with white balance, misses skin tones, and has issues with portrait mode. The ultrawide camera just doesn’t focus sometimes, which is a major issue. If you’re looking for the best software experience at this price with a unique design, the Nothing Phone 2A is a great option.

2: Realme 12 Pro+

The Realme 12 Pro+ is the polar opposite of the Phone 2A in a way, and that’s because it has the worst software experience for the price but makes up for it with an excellent camera setup. The design of this phone is polarizing as well, and it’s not for gamers either. The 7s Gen 2 chip is even worse than the Dimensity 7200 Pro on the Nothing Phone 2A.

If you value a clean software experience and you want to game on your phone, the Realme 12 Pro+ is really not for you. However, it’s the only phone at this price to offer a 3X 1/2″ OV64B periscope telephoto camera. If you want one of the best camera setups in the price range, we recommend the Realme 12 Pro+. It’s currently 29,999 with a 4000 INR bank discount (Axis Bank).

3: Poco X6 Pro and Poco F5

The Poco X6 Pro and Poco F5 miss the mark with software and cameras, and they miss the mark hard- but they have two key advantages: the overall performance thanks to the best chipsets at the price range, and also their displays/ multimedia experience. Both of them share the OV64B 1/2″ sensor as the main sensor, which the Realme 12 Pro+ uses for its periscope camera.

The Poco X6 Pro has the Dimensity 8300, which is good for performance but suffers from heating issues, and there are several reports of awful battery life. There’s an optimization issue from Poco’s end for the Dimensity 8300, and the chip itself isn’t designed with efficiency in mind.

The Poco F5 comes in since that’s the only other option at this price that offers performance. It’s more expensive than the Poco X6 Pro, but you get the 7+ Gen 2 chipset and much better optimization overall. It also retains the headphone jack. The F5 doesn’t suffer from such severe heating or battery problems and is a better buy if you do not value the peak performance that the Poco X6 Pro offers.

4: Vivo T3

For 19,999, the Vivo T3 has the best camera for the price. It even has better performance than the Nothing Phone 2A, for cheaper. It’s the best choice for gaming under 20,000, thanks to Vivo’s gaming algorithms. The Vivo T3 is a rebadged version of the iQOO Z9, which sells on Amazon for the same price. The Flipkart counterpart, the Vivo T3, shares the exact same spec sheet. They share the Dimensity 7200, 120Hz AMOLED screen, 50 MP 1/1.95″ main sensor, stereo speakers, and 44W charging.

There’s a 2000 INR bank discount, making this one of the best deals in the sale.

5: Nothing Phone 2

We’ve seen many phones in the 35,000 segment this year. The Nothing Phone 2 was launched for 42,000 last year, and for 7000 cheaper, it’s packed with the 8+ Gen 1 chipset, a 50MP IMX890 main sensor, 50MP JN1 ultrawide with autofocus, a decent front camera, Nothing’s new Glyph Interface, LTPO AMOLED 120Hz screen, and more. The software stands out as usual, though it doesn’t have the best cameras for the price.

Honorable mentions:

1: Galaxy S21 FE (888 version)

The S21 FE (888 version) still has the most consistent camera setup for the price class. However, the poor battery backup, low remaining updates, age of the phone, and the heating/ throttling issues of a Samsung foundry chip drop it down to honorable mentions. There’s also strong evidence that Samsung has downgraded the camera performance of the S21 FE with updates, which further contributes to a negative perception of the device, and it’s the reason it’s off the main recommendations list. The 128GB variant currently sells for 29,999.

2. Realme 12X 128GB/ 6GB variant (Coming soon)

The phone is currently out of stock, and it doesn’t really have good performance since the chipset is rather weak. Only the 13,499 variant with 128GB ROM and 6GB RAM is recommendable, and there are better options instead of the other two variants.

We already have a detailed write-up on this phone, which you can read here. 45W charging, 120Hz LCD panel, and dual stereo speakers are good for the price. The Dimensity 6100+ is average, and the main sensor is a downgrade since it’s the 1/2.76″ 50MP JN1 this time around, down from the 1/2″ 64MP OV64B sensor.

3. Moto Edge 50 Pro

The only reason this isn’t on the main list is because the sale starts on the 9th of April. This phone is one of the most value-packed phones this year. The base 68W is great, but the 125W variant is not recommendable since the asking price of 36,000 for UFS 2.2 storage, a 4500mAh battery, and 7 Gen 3 is not justified.

It has wireless charging, IP68 water resistance, a 50MP main sensor, a 10MP 3X telephoto with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide with autofocus, and the front camera has autofocus as well, which is quite rare for the price. The major cost-cut is UFS 2.2, and read/ write affects the entire phone.

The 68W variant is 32,000, but there’s a 2000 introductory offer and another 2000 off on an exchange bonus. You can choose to apply the exchange bonus or apply a 2250 card discount. The 125W variant will cost 4000 more in every case, which isn’t really worth it since the 125W charger apparently causes a lot of heating issues as well. A major issue with this phone is Motorola’s historic unreliability with after-sales, and also a terrible track record with delivering on software update promises. Quarterly updates and slow major could be a dealbreaker for a select audience. For others who appreciate the hardware, it’s a great phone.
