If you are trying to install ColorOS apps on OxygenOS phones, we can provide help to some extent with this article. Note that we have tried over 45+ .APK files on the OnePlus Nord 4 (CPH2663 – GLO Variant) and have verified with several sources to verify the compatibility on IN and EU variants and collected a few .apk files, which have been perfectly working on the OnePlus 12R and Nord 5. This shows the apps will run on OxygenOS phones.
Verified Compatible Apps:
- Contacts
- Odialer (only 1 version)
- Calendar (Found missing icon issue across all versions for English [Global APK])
- Messages (3 versions are found to have whole support with OxygenOS 16)

In our testing phase, we found the ColorOS native MessageProvider system app of ColorOS to have a lot of glitches when paired with the ColorOS Messages app in OxygenOS.
We also noticed that, when we use ColorOS 16 apps in OxygenOS 16, we can experience some sections of the app not opening, crashes, and sometimes frequent glitches. We did know this, but we indeed tested both versions just in case and concluded that ColorOS 15 apps are best in compatibility with OxygenOS 16.
In Messages ColorOS 16 versions, the permissions or settings page or the Messages app settings inside the settings app cause crashes in every session. So, we had to use the ColorOS 15 app. Some apps, like OPPO’s Photos, cannot be installed due to OPPO’s base framework being missing.
Odialer had the issue of being restricted by the Play Store’s Play Protect. Across 3 models we tested, and finally, we got a single version out of all the versions we tested, which worked perfectly.
P.S. We can help you if you are having issues with support or incompatibility in some portions of the app or want another ColorOS app perfectly working with OxygenOS. You can try installing the ColorOS 15 app from apkmirror, etc., which might fix issues. If not, feel free to contact me on Telegram (@choqao)
