Samsung Expands Satellite Communication Support to Galaxy Smartphones Across the Globe

Samsung has expanded their Satellite communication support to selected Galaxy phones worldwide, including the just-launched Galaxy S26 Series.

Samsung is partnering up with leading telecom operators across North America, Japan and Europe for increasing reliability and safety of users through satellite connectivity features. This feature will mainly focus on reliable communication during emergencies or mobile coverage outage scenarios.

Samsung mentioned that it will be strengthening its connectivity to be more seamless and reliable.

North America:

  • T-Mobile’s T-Satellite (with Starlink) supports text and data on Galaxy S21 and newer models.
  • Verizon gives text and eSOS on Galaxy S25 and newer.
  • AT&T collaboration on the way.

Europe:

Virgin Media O2, MasOrange (Spain), and Vodafone for bringing and testing satellite features.

Advertisements

Japan:

  • KDDI gives text, data, and ETWS alerts from 2025.
  • Upcoming collaborations with SoftBank, docomo, and Rakuten Mobile are set to come with expansion services from 2026.

Satellite communication features will roll out in phases, which are different to regional network facilities and approval delays. Samsung plans to Expand their Support for satellite features for more Galaxy devices to deliver communication support during emergencies worldwide.
