Starting with the all-new iPad Pro with M5, Apple claims that the iPad Pro with M5 Chipset has a big leap in AI performance and faster storage.

The M5 iPad Pro is built for power users, as it has AI & graphics gains of up to 3.5× faster AI performance compared to the M4 iPad Pro model and up to 5.6× over the M1 iPad Pro.

M5 iPad Pro offers up to 6.7x faster 3D rendering with ray tracing in Octane X when compared to iPad Pro with M1 and up to 1.5x faster than iPad Pro with M4. Up to 6x faster video transcode performance in Final Cut Pro for iPad when compared to iPad Pro with M1, and up to 1.2x faster than iPad Pro with M4.
Up to 4x faster AI image generation performance in Draw Things for iPad when compared to iPad Pro with M1, and up to 2x faster than iPad Pro with M4. Up to 3.7x faster AI video upscaling performance in DaVinci Resolve for iPad when compared to iPad Pro with M1, and up to 2.3x faster than iPad Pro with M4.

Coming to memory & storage speed boosts for better multitasking, the M5 iPad Pro has over 150 GB/s unified memory bandwidth, almost a 30% increase over the previous generation. The storage speeds offer up to 2 times faster read or write. The 256GB and 512GB iPad Pros start with 12GB of RAM, 50% more than the M4 iPad Pro.
With its increased unified memory bandwidth, the iPad Pro is a game-changer for gamers. It can handle demanding games like Arknights: Endfield, multitask across multiple apps, and process AI models faster than ever before.

The all-new Cellular variant of M5 iPad Pro comes with the C1X and N1 Chips, up to 50 % faster cellular data performance, and for active cellular users, up to 30% less power usage compared to iPad Pro with M4 Chip due to the C1X chipset.
The M5 iPad Pro has support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 connectivity and better 5G network connectivity, which improves the overall performance and reliability of Personal Hotspot and AirDrop due to the all-new N1 Wireless Chipset.
The M5 iPad Pro also supports fast charging, reaching almost 50% charge in around 30 minutes using a high-wattage USB-C adapter like Apple’s 40W Power Adapter with 60W Max.
Coming to design and display, the M5 iPad Pro is available in space black and silver colors. The 11-inch model is only 5.3 mm thin, and the 13-inch model is 5.1 mm thin.

The display of the M5 iPad Pro is an Ultra Retina XDR display with tandem OLED technology, with support for both ProMotion and True Tone. This display also supports 1000 nits of normal brightness and 1600 nits of peak brightness while watching HDR content, with nano-texture display glass.

iPad Pro’s M5 also makes it able to reach up to 120 Hz via external displays and has support for Adaptive Sync for the lowest latency with external displays. The low latency makes it suitable for gaming.
