The Nord Series: Stylish Yet Affordable

The OnePlus Nord smartphones are synonymous with three things: affordability, style and features. Back in 2020, when the first OnePlus Nord was launched, it was launched with the intention of making OnePlus smartphones available to make tech available to all without paying a premium price.

The Nord series includes – the OnePlus Nord, the OnePlus Nord CE4, and the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite. The OnePlus Nord was launched under ₹30,000, the OnePlus Nord CE4 under the ₹25,000 price bracket, and the most affordable of them all OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite under ₹20,000 price band.

OnePlus Nord 4

OnePlus Nord 4 is the first smartphone of the Nord series. The smartphone was launched on July 16, 2024, in a special event held by the company in Milan, Italy. The smartphone is special in many different ways. Firstly, it comes with an all-metal body design that was first introduced by the company in 2017. Secondly, the smartphones comes with a very unique design.

The smartphone is launched at the ₹32,999 and for the price they charge, let us have a look at the specifications offered by the company:

OnePlus Nord 4 is a great smartphone for the price it is being sold. The smartphone is available to purchase on Amazon, OnePlus stores and retail stores across India. The smartphone is equipped with AI features and is bound to get more exciting features in the future. OnePlus Nord 4 will get four years of major software upgrades and six years of security updates.

OnePlus Nord CE4

The OnePlus Nord CE4 is the successor to last year’s OnePlus Nord CE3. But is it though?

The OnePlus Nord CE4 comes with a completely new and unique design, a better processor that is bound to create wonder, a camera setup that can take good photos, and an even bigger battery. But is it enough to buy a smartphone?

Let us have a look at what’s new in the new OnePlus Nord CE4

Camera50MP (Sony LYT-600) + 8MP Ultrawide

Like all other smartphones, the OnePlus Nord CE4 has its own advantages and disadvantages. While the brighter display and bigger battery give the phone a completely new life, the limited software support makes it a little difficult to recommend. The samrtphone will get two major Android updates and three years of security update.

The smartphone is priced under 25k price band and is a decent option for those looking to buy a OnePlus smartphone at a limited amount without spending too much.

OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite

The very first samrtphone in the OnePlus Lite series was launched by the company in 2022, OnePlus Nord CE2 Lite. The smartphone became an instant success and went on to become the bestselling smartphone of the year. Same history was repeated in 2023 with the OnePlus Nord CE3 Lite.

The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite is a watered-down version of the OnePlus Nord CE4. The smartphone is priced under ₹20,000. The smartphone is available in three different colour options – Mega Blue, Super Silver, and Ultra Orange.

For this price, let us look at what is being offered by the company

2100 nits peak brightness
Battery and Charging5500 mAh battery

RAM and ROM8GB RAm and 128GB/256GB ROM
UFS 2.2
Camera50MP (Sony LYT-600) and 2MP mono camera
16MP Selfie Shooter

The smartphone has lots of negatives and positives. The display is the highlight of the smartphone this time. The same old Snapdragon 695 processor is the biggest upset. The smartphone will get two major Android upgrades and three years of security updates. If the processor was slightly more powerful then it would have been my recommendation under 20k.

OnePlus Pad 2: A Worthy Successor?
