OnePlus 13 is expected to debut in China this year as the successor to the OnePlus 12, launched earlier this year. Ahead of its debut, details about the display have been leaked, with rumors of a massive upgrade over its existing top-of-the-line flagship. It is suggested to be equipped with a BOE X2 panel with a 2K resolution, corroborating previous official teasers by the Chinese smartphone maker. The screen may also get additional features, including those for enhancing the device’s security.
New Snapdragon 8 Elite?
Rumours from Chinese sources suggest that OnePlus 13 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite which is supposed to be the new name of the 8 Gen 4 launching later this month. Along with the newest Snapdragon chip this year the base variant might be launched with 12GB RAM instead of 8GB and the top variant is expected to be equipped with 24GB LPDDR5X RAM clubbed with 1TB ROM providing a significant jump increasing its performance capabilities for multitasking and opening simultaneous apps with high-end gaming without issues.
Display: Samsung ditched once again for display
OnePlus 13 is rumored to be equipped with a 6.82-inch 2K 10-bit LTPO BOE X2 micro quad curved OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate ditching Samsung display for a second consecutive year and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Oneplus is prominently known to have green line issues in their phones although they have a lifetime free-of-cost repair policy, but this has caused huge damage to their existing reputation along with a new motherboard issue. They would be looking forward to fixing this with more prominent measures and better service with their upcoming device.
Color OS 15 confirmed but…
The parent company has confirmed that the OnePlus 13 will run on ColorOS 15, it boasts an industry-first dual-engine design, Aurora and Tide, completely revamped from low-level systems to user-facing applications. The company stated that the ColorOS 15’s Aurora Engine revolutionizes the user experience with a system-level rendering and drawing architecture. It is said to deliver 18 percent faster control response and 40 percent improved control stability. But it is noteworthy that for the Indian variant, the upcoming OnePlus 13 will follow the tradition of OxygenOS but many notable features are expected to be present.
It will also feature enhanced motion effects, like fluid cloud rebound, delicate 3D space transitions, and expanded system-level sliding motion for more third-party apps. The OxygenOS seems to be similar in terms of data processing, but UI may not be anywhere similar to ColorOS. It is confirmed that the Chinese variant of the OnePlus 13 will have ColorOS and will be limited to Chinese models only. Even after certain limitations of OS, all devices will have assured enhanced performance, AI capabilities, High Demand Gaming capabilities, New and better displays, and more camera options and modes with their existing Hasselblad collaboration.
