Lava has announced the Lava Agni 4, which is a successor to the Agni 3, and it brings a lot of improvements over its predecessor, the Agni 3, and a good performance boost over the predecessor, which is pretty good.
Design

The Agni 4’s design is crafted from an aluminum body, and the camera design has changed from that of the Agni 3. It’s looking great and stylish, and the back design too looks bold and unique enough, which makes it a standout within the competition. The phone has a thickness of 8.6 mm and a weight of 208 grams. It comes in Phantom Black and Lunar Mist, which look great. The Agni 4 gets an action button, which can be programmed for multiple uses. The phone also comes with IP64 for splash and dust resistance.
Display
The Agni 4 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 1.07 billion colours and has a resolution of 1.5k+. Unlike its predecessor, which had a curved display, this model comes with a flat screen. It offers a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and boasts an impressive peak brightness of 2400 nits, an upgrade from the previous 1200 nits. Additionally, the display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, which again is just great for the price range.
Performance

The Agni 4 is equipped with a Dimensity 8350, marking a significant upgrade from the previous generation’s 7300x. This new chipset features enhanced CPU cores, upgraded from Cortex A78 to Cortex A715, with higher clock speeds. Additionally, the GPU has been upgraded compared to the 7300x, upgraded from Mali G615 MC2 to G615 MC6. The NPU has been improved as well, operating approximately three times faster than the NPU 655 found in the Dimensity 7300x, and the Agni 4 features LPDDR5x and UFS 4.0, which should be a 33% performance increase over UFS 3.1. The Agni 4 utilises a graphene film and a 4300 mm² VC liquid cooling system to cool down the Dimensity 8350.
Camera

The Agni 4 features a 50MP camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. However, unlike its predecessor, the Agni 3, which included an 8MP telephoto lens, Lava has chosen to remove this feature. The new DCG technology brings HDR (high dynamic range) with less noise to the camera. The DCG technology also dynamically adapts to lighting for flawless photos every time we capture, and we are getting a 50MP selfie camera equipped with a Samsung JN1 sensor. And when it comes to video recording capabilities, we can record in 4K 60fps on both the main camera and front camera, which looks great for vloggers.
OS
The Agni 4 comes with Android 15 pre-installed, and Lava has promised that the phone should come with three major OS upgrades till Android 18 and four years of security updates, which is awesome, and the phone has some cool AI features, which is Vayu AI, and it comes with expert AI agents like an AI math teacher, an AI English teacher, and AI male and female friends, which is quite awesome, and since we now have a very powerful NPU, we have AI text-to-image generation, AI elimination, AI cutout, AI image expansion, and support for Circle to Search.
Battery
The Agni 4 comes with a 5000 mAh battery, which, according to Lava’s testing, can lead to 14 hours of nonstop YouTube playback, which is actually great. The phone comes with a 66 W fast charger in the box, and Lava claims that the 66 W charger can charge the phone from zero to 50% in less than 19 minutes and to a full charge in 51 minutes. The phone also features a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, which should enable faster transfer speeds when used with a compatible cable.
Pricing of Lava Agni 4
The Agni 4 comes with one variant at the moment, which is the 8+256GB variant, which will start at INR 24,999, and with 2000 Rs of instant discount on all major banks’ debit and credit cards, the price will come down to INR 22,999, which is awesome, and the sale for the smartphone starts from the 25th of November.
