Apple has announced iPhone 17e, positioned as entry level iPhone with an A19 Chip, which is aiming for a more affordable entry into apple ecosystem, but it does not seem worth the money coming into indian smartphone market, as we have the vivo X300 for under ₹63k in offline markets – which offers better value in all parts of the smartphone.

The iPhone 17e comes with a 6.1-inch OLED display with 2532×1170px of resolution, support for 60Hz refresh rate, and is protected by Ceramic Shield 2 for better protection.
17e is powered by the 3nm Apple A19 chip with a 4-core GPU, paired with 8GB RAM, for faster performance and better efficiency. Storage options are 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
Coming to the camera, it has a 48MP Fusion rear camera with 2x optical zoom and 4K video recording support, along with a 12MP TrueDepth front camera.
iPhone 17e runs iOS 26 out of the box and supports Apple Intelligence features.

The phone supports 20W wired charging, Magsafe and Qi Wireless charging, which allows for 15W wireless charging compared to 7.5W of the iPhone 16e.
In-terms of connectivity, the 17e supports 5G, Wi-Fi, NFC and has a C1X modem which helps for faster speeds.
It has an aluminium build with an action button, similar to other iPhones.
iPhone 17e starts at $599 (~₹64,900) for the 256GB model and is available in Black, White, and Soft Pink colors.
Pre-orders start from March 4, with it being available in stores from March 11.
Overall, iPhone 17e provide less value with minimal upgrades over iPhone 16e of last year. iPhone 17e has a new chip and MagSafe support, which are counted as major upgrades in this phone. iPhone 17e feels overpriced compared to other mobiles in this price range in indian smartphone market.
